EPL DFS Picks for FanTeam Fantasy Soccer

What is FanTeam Fantasy Player Matchup?

FanTeam is a Fantasy Soccer site that offers contests composed of the entire game week. The Player Matchup game allows you to pick which player will outperform the other. You must choose minimum of three duels between players across different soccer leagues offered. You can choose up to ten duels which increase the payout of the wager you place. Example: choosing three player duels on a $10.00 bet pays about 6x that wager. If you select ten match ups it will pay 500x the wager. Be careful the number of players you combine, because all must win their matchup to win the game. Players with a star next to their name will earn the victory should players tie in DFS score during their match up.

In this article we will go over a few choices that catch the eye between the EPL and La Liga. We will conclude with a three match up play that looks promising based on match up, current form and DFS output outside the talked about best options.

EPL

Emanuel Dennis vs. Joshua King (FanTeam: Adv. Dennis)

Watford will play host to Norwich City. Watford has taken three consecutive matches against Norwich, including a 3-1 rout in their previous meeting. Emanuel Dennis found the back of the net in that match on the road for Watford. Norwich City has allowed an EPL-worst 20.9 expected goals on the road and 25 actual goals.

Dennis leads Watford in goals scored and contributes on 56% of the club’s scoring. Joshua King is not far behind with five goals, three shy of Dennis. King lacks the distribution but does handle the penalties should Norwich concede a penalty. It is noteworthy that in 19 matches Watford has drawn just one penalty. The two attackers for Watford are sharing the shot volume evenly at around 2.35 a piece per match. The advantage here is to Dennis, who has a commanding lead on accuracy at 54.1% to Kin’s 40%. The goals, assists and shots on target point to Dennis as the play in this duel.

Allan Saint-Maximin vs. Jarrod Bowen (FanTeam: Adv. Bowen)

This next matchup has two players in different matches. Newcastle goes on the road to battle Leeds United. Allan Saint-Maximin has been electric on the wing and creates his own scoring chances. He accounts for 42% of Newcastle’s scoring. Newcastle is not a high-scoring club, with the third-fewest expected goals in the EPL (18.1) and one actual goal per match. Saint-Maximin averages 2.17 shots per match at an on-target rate of 41%. His opponent, Leeds United, tends to bleed out goals, with three-plus allowed in three of their previous six matches. Note that that was against far superior offenses than that of Newcastle — Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea.

Jarrod Bowen’s West Ham side travels to take on Manchester United. West Ham is a top-four offense in the EPL, with 1.88 actual goals per match and 1.5 expected. Bowen ranks second on the club in scoring and has 33% goal contribution. The number is far less than Saint-Maximin’s, but keep in mind the difference in goals between the clubs is a whopping 21 goals more scored by West Ham. Bowen leads West Ham with 2.72 shots per match and hits target 37% of the time. His opponent, Manchester United, allows 1.51 expected goals per match and 1.45 actual. West Ham will have three days’ rest more before this battle against Manchester United. The shot volume is pretty even. The goal contribution points to Bowen, and the set piece advantage will provide assist upside for the West Ham winger.

La Liga

Alexander Isak vs. Roger Marti (FanTeam: Adv. Isak)

This duel between La Liga strikers is interesting. Real Sociedad and Levante both come in as slight favorites at home. Real Sociedad take on a Getafe side that has a solid defense , which allows the sixth best expected goals in La Liga with 1.04 per match. Alexander Isak ranks second on his club in goals scored and contributes on 22% of their scoring. Real Sociedad ranks below mid-tier on offense and Isak leads the home side with 2.54 shots per match and an impressive 54% on target accuracy.

Levante sit equal to Real Sociedad with poor offensive performances in the first half of the season. Cadiz is second to last in goals allowed with 1.71 actual per match. Should Levante find a number of chances beat the keeper, it is Jose Morales and Enis Bardhi that Marti will have to compete with. Roger Marti is tied second on the team sheet in goals and has contributed just one assist. The contribution and scoring splits are even. Marti does little in shot department, sitting fourth on Levante list with 1.64 shots per match. The issue is his poor accuracy of 33%. In a duel where both players could realistically be nonfactors, we will point to the volume of Isak to outperform Marti.

FanTeam Player Matchup Picks

Angel Correa vs. Mikel Oyarzabal (FanTeam: Adv. Oyarzabal)

Vinicius Junior vs. Karim Benzema (FanTeam: Adv. Benzema)

Alexandre Lacazette vs. Gabriel Jesus (FanTeam: Adv. Lacazette)
