Thomas Pieters: Outright 70-1 (DraftKings) | Top 10 +650 (William Hill)
Thomas Pieters has some juicy odds available on him at 70-1 for an outright — where he’s available on the DraftKings — and +650 for a top-10 this week. He has had an excellent 2021 season, with five top-10s in his last seven starts, and he has often paid off these consistent stretches with wins in the past (albeit on the Euro Tour). Pieters ranks sixth in strokes gained on approach over the last 50 rounds and is overdue to make his mark on the PGA Tour after flashing loads of potential in the mid-2010s. With so many PGA regulars having their prices jacked up due to one good week at the Wells Fargo or Valspar, I like going with Pieters here, as he could easily be available at half this price if he had teed it up at one of the previous two events.

Si Woo Kim: Outright 45-1 (DraftKings) | Top 10 +350 (DraftKings)
Si Woo Kim is not getting the respect he deserves from the oddsmakers this week. We are getting 45-1 odds for a guy who has gained strokes on the field in nine out of 10 events played this year, has a win already and just came in 12th at the Masters. He is fifth in ball striking in this field and ranks in the top 20 in both opportunities gained and bogeys avoided. TPC Craig Ranch projects to play long with wide fairways and plenty of birdie opportunities barring a crazy wind forecast. Si Woo fairs quite well at both long and easy courses. Bentgrass is also his best putting surface, which is an added bonus. Kim is playing the best golf of his career, and I am looking to capitalize on his amazing form in a big way this week.

Ryan Palmer : Outright 40-1 (PointsBet) | Top 10 +340 (PointsBet)
We are going to hear a bunch about the guys with Texas ties this week, some of which is more noise than useful info. However, native Texan Ryan Palmer is familiar with this track and mentioned in an interview he actually holds the course record. More important, his game perfectly fits TPC Craig Ranch. Golfers need to take advantage of the four gettable par 5’s, and Palmer has done that all year, ranking seventh in birdie-or-better percentage on par 5’s this season. He has not missed a cut in 2021 and just needs to sync up a hot putting week with his consistent ball striking. It is anyone’s guess if that happens this week, but 40-1 for a guy who has played solid golf all year certainly caught my eye. If you think the outright is too aggressive, you still are getting over 3-1 for a top-10 finish, which is another way to get some exposure to Palmer this week.

Cameron Champ: Outright 85-1| Each Way 12-1 (DraftKings)
Cameron Champ has been out of form for much of this year, but a chip-in at the Valero Texas Open on the 36th hole to make the cut seems to have given him a bit of a spark. He followed that up with a good start at The Masters and a good showing at the Zurich. While he may not be ready to win again yet, there’s plenty of value in the each-way bets given that he needs a top-20 for a profitable week. With Champ, we are also hoping for an easier, low-scoring event, at which he has performed best in his short career.

Sung Kang: Top 5Â +5000 (DraftKings)
It is rare to get a PGA Tour player playing golf in their backyard for a tour event, but TPC Craig Ranch is literally Sung Kang’s backyard. While this narrative can certainly be drawn to local Will Zalatoris as well, Kang is a member and has made this his training grounds for the better part of a decade. With so much indecisiveness on how this course will play, why not take a flier on the player in the field who has by far the most familiarity with it? He won the previous iteration of the Byron Nelson at Trinity Forest Golf Club, so zoysia grass fairways, bentgrass greens and potential wind create an environment at which he can obviously excel.
