The following Spotlight Pitchers were selected by Awesemo.com writer Jake Hari. For more analysis on the slate, check out Awesemo’s Rankings and Ownership Projections.

Chris Sale ($14,000 DK/$12,500 FD)

Sale is the most expensive pitcher on the slate by a wide margin, but this looks like another smash spot for him to showcase his elite strikeout upside in what looks like a below-average matchup. The Royals, while they only have a 21.9% K-rate against lefties this year, are striking out over 23% of the times versus lefties over the last month, while showing almost no power (league-worst .084 ISO). Sale should see 7 righties, but he’s striking them out at a 36% clip with more soft-contact than hard-contact. With many options in the mid- and low-tiers, you can make Sale work tonight in GPPs even at this sky-high price tag.

Zack Godley ($8,600 DK/$8,200 FD)

Godley’s rough start against the Giants may keep some DFS players off of him, but tonight’s matchup versus San Diego is one that he’s already had success with earlier this year (5.1 IP, 8K, 2ER on April 21). Since the start of June, he’s posting a respectable 11.4% Swinging-Strike rate with a top-30 Whiffs/Swing rate, showing the ability to miss bats that he wasn’t showing earlier in the year. The Padres have a 25.8% K-rate and a bottom-10 BB% against righties on the year, while they rank inside the top-10 in O-Swing% and Swinging-Strike% over the last month. If Godley can limit the walks, which he’s had trouble with, he could be on his way to a ceiling game at reasonable ownership.

Lance Lynn ($6,400 DK/$7,300 FD)

Lynn, like Godley, will be seeking a bounce-back start in a much better matchup this time around. Baltimore looks like a solid reset for Lynn as they strikeout at a 24.8% rate with a .289 OBP against righties, and the numbers get even worse against a righty on the road for them (27.8% K-rate, .284 OBP). Lynn should be able to handle this righty-heavy lineup the Orioles roll out, as he’s retiring them on strikes at a 27.7% rate with a 3.75 xFIP. At this price on DraftKings, Lynn is a fantastic SP2 option if you’re paying up for a deGrom or Sale as your top option.
