Jake Hari

FREE MLB picks: Our DraftKings MLB DFS Cheatsheets column highlights value plays in each price range for fantasy baseball lineups for June 23

The following Spotlight Stacks were selected by writer Jake Hari. Please check back later for notes/additional picks from Awesemo himself.

COL (vs. MIL)

The Rockies will face Chase Anderson in Coors tonight, and they have a great chance to be the highest scoring team on the night. We say it time and time again, but if you’re not missing bats in Coors Field, you’re going to have a very rough outing. Anderson has an underwhelming 8% Swinging-Strike% and is bottom-third in the league in Whiffs/Swing%, and looking at his pitch arsenal, his curveball and sinker are not going to move the way they usually would in normal air density. He’s done a good job limiting hard-contact so far this year, but I think that changes in Coors tonight against these Rockies hitters.

Jarlin Garcia was exposed in his last start against the Cubs, and now he gets one of the worst matchup for a lefty in the entire league. Garcia’s .165 BABIP and 38.9% Hard-Hit% against righties this year suggests he’s got even further regression coming, and it may come as early as tonight. The Braves strikeout at the league’s lowest rate in the MLB against lefties this season, while ranking in the top-5 in OBP, ISO, and wRC+ against them. The righties (Suzuki, Albies, Acuna) are some of my favorite plays on the night, but I’m looking to get Freddie Freeman in my lineup as well against Garcia.

LAD (vs. CIN)

Homer Bailey is certainly an attractive option to stack against tonight, as he’s rocking a 5.29 xFIP, 13.2 K%, and 44% Hard-Hit rate on the year. The Dodgers’ team total suggests they will get to Bailey early, specifically guys like Cody Bellinger, Chris Taylor, Matt Kemp, Joc Pederson, and Yasmani Grandal. I even like Yasiel Puig down in the order, as I have almost no respect for Bailey as far as him being an MLB starting pitcher. If you can’t get up to the Rockies or the Brewers, the Dodgers are a nice consolation prize.
