UFC DFS Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel | Overeem vs Sakai

Hello UFC fans. This weekend, we have a 10-fight card in Las Vegas, including a main event between Alistair Overeem vs. Augusto Sakai. The main GPP has $100,000 going to first place with a total of $400,000 being paid out. Here I will offer the fighters I feel have the most upside and value. Let’s dig into some UFC DFS picks analysis.

Brian Kelleher | DraftKings: $9,200, FanDuel: $18

This will be Kelleher’s fourth fight since the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. He fought Hunter Azure on May 12^th winning via knockout in the second round, then went on to fight Cody Stamann on June 6^th winning via unanimous decision. When Kelleher steps into the cage at UFC Vegas 9, he will be facing Kevin Natividad who is taking this fight on a week’s notice, after Ricky Simons was forced out when his cornerman tested positive for COVID-19. I expect Kelleher’s experience and momentum to seal his fourth win of the year. Awesemo’s UFC DFS Fighter projections give Kelleher 67% win odds, and is projected the second highest on the slate.

Alexandr Romanov | DraftKings: $8,400, FanDuel: $17

Romanov has only gone past the first round twice in his professional career, while acquiring 5 finishes in less than two minutes. His stand up is dangerous, he throws heavy kicks to the body, head and will chop his opponents legs down. Romanov’s wrestling and top control are where he is most dangerous, his physical strength and power can be devastating to his opponents on the mat. His submission arsenal consists of rear-naked chokes and forearm chokes. In this fight, I expect Romanov to be able to take this fight to the mat often, due to Marcos Rogerio de Lima Extremely poor takedown defense. According to Awesemo’s UFC DFS fighter projections give Romanov a 51% chance for a knockout, with 58%win odds.

UFC DFS Mid-Priced Picks

Michel Pereira | DraftKings: $8,200, FanDuel: $17

Pereira is huge at 170 pounds, which translates to some dangerous power. He throws extremely hard kicks to the body and head; from the clinch he will throw nasty knees and elbows. Pereira has knockout power in his hand and can put his opponents lights out. In this fight, I expect both fighters to stand and trade, which could translate into a violent brawl. Pereira’s power and technical skills should shut off Imadaev lights. Awesemo’s projections give Pereira 52% win odds.

Ovince Saint Preux | DraftKings: $7,900, FanDuel: $16

Saint Preux will be looking to get this fight to the mat, he does not want to stand and trade with Menifield, due too the pure power he possesses. If Saint Preux can get this fight to the mat, I expect him to be able to lock in a submission. Menifield will need to preserve his energy in this fight, unlike his last outing when he punched himself out early. If that happens against Saint Preux, Menifield will be going to sleep in a hurry. Awesemo’s UFC DFS Fighter projections give Preux 45% win odds.

UFC DFS Value Picks

Augusto Sakai | DraftKings: $7,400, FanDuel: $19

Sakai has won six in a row, including all four of his UFC appearances. He has 11 knockouts and no submissions; this will be his toughest test thus far, but his power striking should keep this fight close. Sakai is very hittable due to the lack of footwork and movement in the octagon, although I expect his striking to keep Overeem at distance. This should be an exciting fight to watch. According to Awesemo’s UFC DFS Fighter projections Sakai has a 39% win odds.
