Fantasy Football Rankings: Strength of Schedule Playoff Targets

1. Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens

Andrews was the prime beneficiary of Lamar Jackson’s breakout 2019 campaign. He received a whopping 98 targets in a run-heavy offense, catching 64 of them for 852 yards and 10 touchdowns. The next closest player in terms of most targets on the team was wide receiver Marquise Brown at 71 targets. No other player besides those two received more than 46 targets, which only further illustrates Andrews being the focal point of their passing game.

Although the Ravens are hoping for more progress from Brown during his second season in the league, they didn’t bring in any established wide receivers during the offseason. As such, expect Andrews to remain extremely busy. He’s projected to average 10.36 fantasy points per game for the season, making him our 61st-ranked player overall. With the Ravens facing potentially porous defenses in the Jaguars and Giants during the fantasy playoffs, Andrews is expected to see his fantasy points per game average spike to 10.89 over that span, which is an increase of 5.11%. Mark Andrews is Awesemo’s No. 1 fantasy football rankings playoff strength of schedule tight end.

2. Darren Waller, Las Vegas Raiders

Tyrell Williams is a fine player, but him being the Raiders’ top wide receiver entering last season told you all that you needed to know about their lack of depth at the position. That contributed to them turning their attention towards Waller, who had a monster breakout campaign. Entering 2019, Waller had a total of 18 receptions through his first three seasons in the league. He then made a name for himself by catching 90 of 117 targets for 1,145 yards and three touchdowns.

Entering 2020, the Raiders have added depth at tight end in veteran Jason Witten. They also bolstered their wide receiver group by drafting Henry Ruggs. Still, Waller should busy, which leaves him with a projected 8.42 fantasy points per game for the season. That points per game projection is expected to increase by 4.44% during the fantasy playoffs to 8.79 points per contest, thanks in large part to a matchup with the Dolphins in Week 16. Darren Waller is Awesemo’s No. 2 fantasy football rankings playoff strength of schedule tight end.

3. Rob Gronkowski, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Gronk is back! After a year of retirement, his former quarterback Tom Brady was able to convince him to come back to the league and join him in Tampa Bay. The last time we saw Gronkowski in the field, he played in only 13 games with the Patriots in 2018. It was a down campaign by his standards, with him catching 47 of 72 targets for 682 yards and three touchdowns.

With a year off to heal his body, Gronkowski is now part of a loaded offense that includes top-tier wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. They aren’t exactly loaded at running back with the trio of Ronald Jones, LeSean McCoy and Ke’Shawn Vaughn, so look for this to be a pass-heavy offense. With Gronkowski’s familiarity with Brady, it should make for a smoother transition back into the league. He’s projected to average 6.85 fantasy points per game for the season overall and 7.11 points per contest during the fantasy playoffs, which is an increase of 3.86%. The Buccaneers could be involved in a shootout with the Falcons on the road in Week 15, and they will face a Lions team in Week 16 that allowed the seventh-most points per game last season. Rob Gronkowski is Awesemo’s No. 3 fantasy football rankings playoff strength of schedule tight end.
