MLB picks: Our FanDuel MLB DFS Cheatsheets column highlights value plays in each price range for fantasy baseball lineups for July 21.

The following Spotlight Hitters were selected by Awesemo.com’s Director of Content Josh Engleman. Please check back later for notes/additional picks from Awesemo himself.

George Springer
FD: $4100
DK: $5000

Springer is popping up a lot on both sites and with good reason. I’m a huge Kris Medlen fan from his time in Atlanta, but he hasn’t throwing in the majors in two years. I’m not confident in his ability to navigate this Astros lineup. Between the implied total and his spot in the lineup, Springer will be one of my cornerstones.

Matt Joyce
FD: $2500
DK: $3100

Matt Joyce has become something of a mainstay in the Spotlight Hitters list. He’s got another tasty matchup against Andrew Cashner and the Orioles. Joyce pounds righies. He gets the benefit of the leadoff spot, along with a bargain price on both sites. Specifically on FanDuel, where his $2500 price tag is impossible to pass up.

Max Kepler
FD: $3500
DK: $3700

Kepler thrives versus righties, so getting to face someone as bad as Carson Fulmer is probably the best he could possibly hope for. Kepler has a career .477 SG and 214 ISO against righties, and I’m hoping to see those averages rise slightly after this game. The Twins stack looks great and Kepler is the key piece of it.

Awesemo’s Notes
It seems like I keep writing every day that I agree with Josh about Matt Joyce being a great play and today is no exception. He is insanely cheap for how good of a player he is. Springer isn’t jumping out at me right now; the team total is pretty high but I prefer spending up a bit for Aaron Judge with an even higher team total. I like Kepler as a great value play on DraftKings.
