MLB picks: Our FanDuel MLB DFS Cheatsheets column highlights value plays in each price range for fantasy baseball lineups for July 21

The following Spotlight Hitters were selected by Awesemo.com’s Director of Content Josh Engleman. Please check back later for notes/additional picks from Awesemo himself.

Lorenzo Cain
FD: $3900
DK: $4600

Judging by the results of my preliminary research, high priced bats are going to be popular for me. First up is Lorenzo Cain. The Brewers have the third highest implied total, which is always a good start. Cain has shown a large increase in power (.176 ISO vs. .117 ISO) against lefties over his career. Cain has the benefit of having real pop hitting lead-off. This is exactly what I’m looking for.

Kris Bryant
FD: $4200
DK: $4900

Kris Bryant is terrifying in all hitting situations, but he’s on a different level against lefties. In the last two years, Bryant has a 20% HR/FB rate versus left handed pitching. Bryant works in all scenarios tonight, whether you’re stacking the Cubs or need a one-off 3B.

Joey Votto
FD: $4100
DK: $4600

Everyone knows Joey Votto is incredibly patient. It surprises me sometimes to dig deeper into his stats to see how it happens. Over the past two years, Votto ranks 5th in baseball with a Soft% of 10.5 against RHP. He’s death to right handed pitching, especially bad right handed pitching like he faces tonight. The Reds have a nice implied total, so I’ll happily rely on Votto.
