Josh Engleman and Adam Scherer break down their favorite hitters, pitchers, and GPP MLB DFS picks for DraftKings, FanDuel, & Yahoo.

The following Spotlight Hitters were selected by Awesemo.com’s Director of Content Josh Engleman. Please check back later for notes/additional picks from Awesemo himself.

Aaron Hicks
FD: $3100
DK: $3200

The Yankees have an excellent match-up/implied total, and Aaron Hicks looks to be the best play from their lineup. Hicks has a bargain price for a guy batting lead-off, and it just so happens that he hits significantly better against lefties. Hicks makes for a nice play, regardless of site.

Ben Zobrist
FD: $2700
DK: $3600

This play works on both sites, but it’s definitely better on FanDuel. The Cubs have the second highest implied total on the main slate, and Zobrist will be leading off. To get that scenario at only $2700 is an absolute steal. The price isn’t as amazing on DraftKings, but the dual eligibility make things much better.

Matt Carpenter
FD: $3800
DK: $3500

Homer Bailey has been a bit “Homer Happy” in his career, which makes me excited to roster Carpenter this afternoon, specifically on DraftKings. The Cardinals sport the highest implied total of the slate, and Carpenter is penciled in to the 3-hole. Similar to Zobrist, Carpenter also sports dual eligibility on DraftKings, which makes it an ever easier decision to slot him in.

Mike Trout
FD: $5400
DK: $5500

When it doubt, give me the best hitter in baseball. I don’t need to tell anyone that Trout is amazing, but today he’s got a great match-up against lefty Eric Skoglund and the Kansas City Royals. The Angels have a nice implied total compared to the rest of the remaining slate, so I’ll happily pay up for Trout, who can easily be used outside of a stack.
