The following Spotlight Hitters were selected by Awesemo.com writer Jake Hari. For more analysis on the slate, check out Awesemo’s Rankings and Ownership Projections.

Manny Machado ($4,600 DK/$4,200 FD)

Machado has been the best part about the Orioles season which hasn’t had many positives. Anytime he gets a lefty, he will be worth a look, especially against Mike Minor today, who is getting crushed by righties, allowing 42% hard-contact. Machado is punishing lefties this year as you’d expect, posting a .269 ISO and .405 OBP while striking out under 15% of the time. Machado should be a pretty easy player to click on today in great hitting weather.

Mike Moustakas ($4,300 DK/$3,300 FD)

Moustakas gets a dreamy matchup against Lucas Giolito, who I have as one of the worst pitchers in all of the MLB against lefty hitters. A 7.22 xFIP, 1.80 WHIP, 44.6% Fly Ball rate, and almost double the BB/9 as K/9 won’t scare anyone away, and a power-hitter like Moustakas that feasts on righties makes for one of the best options on the slate. If Giolito isn’t getting ahead against Merrifield and Bonafacio, he’ll have no place to put Moustakas which is exactly what DFS players should want.

Jackie Bradley ($3,800 DK/$2,900 FD)

Bradley, who hit in the 5-spot yesterday, will face off against Marcus Stroman, who has not been the same player we’ve seen in recent years, especially versus lefties. On the year, Stroman is allowing over 40% hard-contact to lefties while only striking them out at a 16.2% rate. Bradley should be able to put the ball in play (15% K-rate vs. RHP), and when he does, good things usually happen, as he’s posted a 40% hard-contact rating. As a bonus, Bradley has 11 stolen bases on the year, and Stroman has struggled allowing steals over the last few years, so it could be an opportunity for him to swipe a bag.
