Berrios will go up against one of our favorite teams to target as of late in the Kansas City Royals. He’s coming off an unspectacular, but solid start against this same Royals team, which is encouraging after going through a very rough stretch for the 30 days before that. The Royals have little to offer in the power department, so for a discount on DraftKings and fair ownership, Berrios makes for a good GPP target on DK.
Eflin doesn’t have the most upside in the world, but with the array of expensive stack options, he’s absolutely in play in GPPs. He should see 6-7 righties tonight at home against the Marlins which sets up well, as he’s allowing under 29% hard-contact against RHH on the year with an above-average K%. Throw in a Marlins total of just 3.5 and the fact that Eflin pitches better in his home stadium, and you’ve got a bargain for under $7K on DraftKings.
Anderson comes into tonight looking to bounce back after an abbreviated outing in Coors Field against the Dodgers. Tonight he gets arguably the best park shift, going from Coors to AT&T, and he’s fully stretched out as well. Anderson should see a lot of righties here which may look unfavorable, but the Giants have a 38 (yes, 38) wRC+ against lefties over the last 30 days with a K% above 30% and an ISO below of .114. Anderson is clearly underpriced on DK, so I’ll be firing him up on a lot of tournament rosters.
Cubs (vs. Matt Harvey)
Harvey has certainly improved since the early part of 2018, but lefty-power will continue to be an issue for him. Anthony Rizzo, Daniel Murphy, Ben Zobrist, and Kyle Schwarber all grade out as fabulous plays against Harvey even before factoring in their affordable pricing. Righties like Kris Bryant and Javy Baez make for excellent fillers if you can afford them, as the Cubs are one of my favorite stacks on the entire night.
Yankees (vs. Marco Estrada)
The Yankees will get the pleasure of going up against Marco Estrada, who has little to nothing to offer against righties, as he has posted a 5.92 xFIP, 1.59 WHIP, and 16.3% K-rate on the season. Many may see the abundance of righties and look elsewhere, but Estrada is a reverse splits pitcher, and guys like Stanton, Andujar, Torres, and McCutchen all make for solid plays in GPPs. Once they get to Estrada, they will see the Blue Jays pen which has the 9th-worst xFIP over the last month.
Josh Donaldson (vs. Matt Boyd)
Christian Yelich (vs. Chris Archer)
Francisco Cervelli (vs. Gio Gonzalez)
