Champion Picks

Mariya Agapova | Multiplier 1.50

Agapova is an aggressive and dangerous fighter, and she lands 3.84 significant strikes per minute. She will have the advantage on the ground, but her standup is even better, and she does an outstanding job keeping her opponents from closing the distance. Agapova has the clear advantage everywhere and I expect her to finish Dobson early. Awesemo’s UFC DFS Fighter projections give her 92% win odds, with a 52% chance for a knockout.

Pedro Munhoz | Multiplier 1.80

Munhoz relies on his smothering pressure , while throwing heavy punches to beat his opponents down. When he gets his opponents to the mat, he is always looking to lock in his killer guillotine. I expect Munhoz lands a heavy power shot early, and either pounds him out via TKO or possibly locks in his nasty guillotine. Although Edgar has never been submitted, but he has never faced the best guillotine in the game. Munhoz happens to be Awesemo’s highest projected fighter in the champion spot, with 71% win odds.

Ike Villanueva | Multiplier 2.05

Villanueva’s has nice hand speed and his counterpunching is solid, he throws combinations that can hurt and finish his opponents. He was on a four-fight win streak, until his UFC debut TKO loss at the hands of Chase Sherman. Villanueva will be looking to bounce back and get his first UFC win; I expect Villanueva’s hand speed and counterpunching will be too much for Wright to withstand. Mizuki Inoue | Multiplier 1.30

Inoue is a technical striker; her striking has been phenomenal to start her UFC career. She is averaging 6.20 significant strike per minute; she will have an edge and is certainly the more dangerous fighter on the feet and the ground. Inoue will use her solid striking and grappling skills to edge out Lemos in a decision. Awesemo’s projections give Inoue 56% win odds.

Timur Valiev | Multiplier 1.05

Valiev only loss since his UFC debut, was a controversial one to Chris Gutierrez. He throws lighting fast kicks that can hurt his opponents, and he is an extremely explosive fighter. Valiev trains with Ray Longo and Matt Serra, his grappling is elite, and his striking has huge power. I expect Valiev to dominate this fight everywhere and pick Jones apart on the feet. Ovince Saint Preux | Multiplier 1.40

Saint Preux is coming off a loss to Ben Rothwell via split decision, he is 5-5 in his last ten fights. He is a dangerous fighter in the light heavyweight division, with huge knockout power in his hand. Saint Preux left hand is dangerous and packs huge power, he can put any fighter down with it. I expect Saint Preux to get this fight to the mat and look to lock in a submission. Saint Preux has 46% win odds, according to Awesemo’s UFC DFS Fighter projections with 36% chance for a knockout.
