Christopher Bell990021Now that Xfinity has gotten its road course schedule out of its system we can start giving serious consideration to Christopher Bell again who had won two straight races before we had three road courses in four weeks (finished 2nd at Bristol in between those races). Bell doesn't have history in the Xfinity series here but this is the sort of track that should suit him well, a high banked surface where the preferred groove is the top groove. First and 3rd fastest single laps in Friday's practice sessions.

Denny Hamlin1240052The Denny versus Brad debate is going to be contentious as we debate Denny's history versus Brad's car, all things considered I'll take the former 5 time Xfinity winner at the Lady in Black including last year's win from the pole.
4
Brad Keselowski1320093There's nothing special about Brad's Xfinity history here at Darling, no wins and just an average finish of 12.8 but he's back in the 22 and has 2 wins, a second place, and was robbed of another victory just a few weeks ago at The Glen. If you like to ride momentum then hop on board Kez. 2nd fastest long run speed in the final practice session on Friday.
5
Elliott Sadler910084Most weeks we don't give a real glance at Sadler unless he offers enough place differential to be worth rostering, however, Sadler needs more than just a passing glance this weekend. In 2016 Sadler started third and eventually won leading 75 laps and beat Cup drivers like Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson en route to victory. Clean air is king at Darlington and if he can work his way to first with a great pit stop, he'll be smooth sailing. Fastest in the final practice session on Friday.

Ross Chastain770019So what happens when you take the driver of the #4 and put him in Chip Ganassi's ride? He wins the pole, that's what. Chastain feels like Cindric in the 22 almost, if things break right then you love him at an amazing discount and that break is if he can clear Bell early into the first run and rack up some Hog points.

Brandon Jones86003914Failed pre-qualifying tech four, yes four, times and wasn't allowed to post a qualifying lap. He could easily end up with 50 points with a finish in the mid-teens but he has to do a pass through penalty which should put him down one lap or even two. He should get the lap back but it's no guarantee. If the first run goes long and green then back markers will get passed and Brandon will be in an uphill fight all day.

Jeremy Clements69001717Even though he couldn't replicate his magic at Road America last Saturday, it's time to jump right back on the Clements' bandwagon who was consistently finishing in the top-20 even before we hit the road course phase of the Xfinity schedule. In five career Darlington starts he has finished every race with no DNF's.

Ryan Sieg60002322Finishes of 15th and 22nd in two career Darlington starts. As long as Sieg hangs around his starting position he can make value by creeping into the high teens.

Bayley Currey47003032Bayley, when given a ride, hasn't let us down and we hope for more of the same if you need the extra salary. I tend to shy away from true rookies making their first career starts at a track like Darlington but Bristol proved to not be too much of a test for Currey which hopefully means good trends for Bayley.
