The Jock MKT Starter Kit: NBA DFS Picks | March 23
How to Play at Jock MKT
To begin, enter the NBA Daily Market when the Initial Public Offering (IPO) phase is under way. Leading up until the start of the first game, bid up on players you are interested in acquiring on the open market. Is there a player who you consider a favorite to finish at the top of the rankings? Invest as much or as little as you want in their fantasy performance, with shares beginning at $1 and ranging all the way up to $25. See potential injury news that could open up an opportunity for another player to acquire fantasy points? Make speculative bids for shares of the back-up, hoping for that news to break after the IPO phase is complete.
The next part of the game occurs during live trading. Unlike in regular NBA DFS where your plays are locked in, you can buy and sell shares of players while the games are happening based on their production and where you could see them finishing amongst the field. Track as current points, projected points, and live price for each player is updated in real time, allowing you to track the action and invest in an instant to account for news. Trading can be done all the way up until the final buzzer of the night’s final game.
At the end of the games, each player share is paid out based on their final rankings of fantasy points amongst the field. If the shares you own are worth more than what you paid, you win money. It’s as simple as that! For more information, go to jockmkt.com.

Strategy Session — Capitalize on Injuries
There are only six games on the schedule, but there is no shortage of injuries that should have a significant impact on the slate. When the Warriors host the 76ers, both teams will be missing a star player, with Stephen Curry (tailbone) and Joel Embiid (knee) out. On the Sixers’ side of things, that could make Tobias Harris a prime target during the IPO phase. He has been a monster since Embiid went down, averaging 24.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.8 steals over five games. From the Warriors it might be wise to pursue Jordan Poole. He can likely be had at a significantly cheaper price but has been great, with averages of 20.9 points and 3.3 3-pointers over the last seven games.
Another team who will be missing a star is the Nets, who will have to play without Kyrie Irving (personal). To make matters even more uncertain, James Harden is questionable with a sore neck. If he is cleared to play, this is a clear spot to pursue him not only due to Irving being out, but also because his opponent, the Trail Blazers, have the second-worst defensive rating in the league. Be sure to monitor for updates on his status throughout the day.
Finally, the Lakers will take on the Pelicans without both LeBron James (ankle) and Anthony Davis (calf). That means that Dennis Schroder and Montrezl Harrell will be left to should the scoring load in what is a very favorable matchup considering the Pelicans have the third-worst defensive rating. Of the two, Harrell might be the most appealing option given his averages of 21.1 points and 8.4 rebounds over the last seven games.
My Targets for Tonight
Julius Randle – Randle continues to provide monster all-around production, recording two triple-doubles over his last five games. For the season he is now averaging 23.0 points, 11.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists. Expect the Wizards, who have the fourth-worst defensive rating, to have a difficult time slowing him down. When they last met, Randle produced 24 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists.
Talen Horton-Tucker – With James out, Horton-Tucker is one of the prime members of the Lakers’ bench who should play more. He logged 28 minutes against the Suns on Sunday, finishing with 17 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. Across 17 games in which he has played at least 20 minutes this season, he has averaged 11.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.1 steals. He likely won’t cost a lot to acquire either.
Bruce Brown – Speaking of players who likely won’t cost much, don’t overlook Brown. Not only is Irving out, but so is Landry Shamet (ankle). Across 23 games in which he has logged at least 20 minutes, Brown has averaged 11.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.0 steals. Even if Harden plays, this could be a great spot for Brown to thrive. If Harden is forced to sit, Brown could provide even more of a return.
