NBA Daily Fantasy Picks: Awesemo Grades | March 30

Shooting Guard: Terry Rozier

DraftKings Grades: B, Values: D

FanDuel Grades: B, Values: C

With LaMelo Ball (wrist) done for the season, Rozier has been the primary beneficiary for the Hornets. In these last four since Ball went down, Rozier is averaging 43.4 DraftKings points per game. His usage has seen 2.2% boost and Rozier’s assist rate has spiked a significant 10.2%. Furthermore, three of these four contests have been decided by single digit points and in these competitive settings, the Louisville product has led Charlotte with 38 regulation minutes per game. This is a big upgrade from the 33.2 minutes Rozier is averaging for the season, and he should get close to the 40-minute mark in Tuesday’s date with the Wizards.

Carrying a slate-high over/under (228.5 points) and the tightest spread on the schedule (Charlotte -3), this is undoubtedly the top contest of the night to target for this small four-game slate, and this is a dream matchup for Rozier. By a wide margin, the Wizards are the fastest team in basketball, and the high speed has translated to them surrendering the sixth-most DraftKings points per game to opposing shooting guards. Even with a healthy Ball in the lineup, Rozier put up 39.8 DraftKings points against Washington back in early February, and at sub-$8,000 salaries on both DraftKings and FanDuel, he is a no-brainer for this short slate.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 17.5%, FanDuel 21.0%

Center: Clint Capela

DraftKings Grades: B, Values: C

FanDuel Grades: B, Values: D

After an underwhelming 22.0 DraftKings points against the Nuggets on Sunday, Capela isn’t expected to be a popular name tonight in GPPs, based on Awesemo’s ownership projections. Before this tough duel with Nikola Jokic, Capela was playing extremely well, recording three consecutive double-doubles worth 44.8 DraftKings points per game. The often injured center appears to be fully healthy right now, seeing at least 28 minutes in his last four, and Capela’s size is going to be needed to match up with Deandre Ayton.

With this not being a back-to-back situation for the Hawks, Capela should log right near 30 minutes, and Phoenix has been a solid spot for centers since the All-Star break, allowing the eighth-most DraftKings points per game to the position. He has scored over 40 DraftKings points 48% of the time this season and perusing his ceiling is a sharp move for GPPs tonight.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 14.3%, FanDuel 9.7%

Latest NBA DFS Content

Power Forward: Marcus Morris

DraftKings Grades: C, Values: C

FanDuel Grades: C, Values: A

Morris stepped up with Paul George (foot) being a late scratch last night, scoring 37.25 DraftKings across 37.2 minutes in the convincing win over the Bucks. George is listed as questionable for Tuesday night, and Morris would be a plug-and-play if George remains sidelined, but Morris is still a solid option no matter the status of his teammate. Two weeks ago, coach Tyronn Lue made the decision to start Morris over Nicolas Batum going forward, and Morris has responded with 27 DraftKings points per game.

In five of these seven starts, Morris has topped 25 DraftKings points, and this should be a friendly matchup for him, going against a Magic team that is a mess right now after a complete overhaul at the trade deadline. With or without George, Morris is a strong bet to return 5x value tonight, especially on FanDuel where he is very underpriced at only $4,500.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 16.1%, FanDuel 28.0%

Shooting Guard: Malik Monk

DraftKings Grades: C, Values: B

FanDuel Grades: C, Values: E

Monk is a very tough sell on FanDuel considering the career-high $6,500 price tag, but at only $4,900 on DraftKings, he is a very appealing value play. After missing Sunday’s loss to the Spurs with a foot injury, Monk is probable for tonight, and in the previous two sans Ball, he was terrific with 36.6 DraftKings points per game off the bench. With Devonte’ Graham taking Ball’s place in the starting five, Monk takes on a much bigger role as the Hornets’ sixth man, posting a team-high 29.6% usage rate and receiving 25.1 minutes per game.

In these full games with Ball injured, Monk has contributed an excellent 1.22 DraftKings points per minute, and it doesn’t get much better than this matchup tonight, playing way up in pace against the Wizards, who rank 26th in defensive efficiency. Monk has much higher ceiling than his low DraftKings’ salary suggests, and he is a primary value play on the site tonight.

Edit: Malik Monk has been ruled out.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 17.8%, FanDuel 2.7%
