NBA DFS Picks: FanDuel Simulation Games for 3/27/20

The NBA may have stopped but that doesn’t mean we don’t have e-sports contests! FanDuel has kept it going with contests every night. Here are Adam ‘ShipMyMoney’s’ TOP NBA DFS Picks.

Here’s what we’re doing: over the next few weeks, we’re giving away $20,000+ in prizes in FREE TO PLAY contests based on simulated NBA DFS games that will air on YouTube and Twitch streams involving your favorite Awesemo personalities. And it all starts today. There will be Daily Contests where you are asked to predict aspects of the day’s simulated game. Get the most correct answers and you’ll be eligible for great prizes. Prizes will vary from day-to-day. Enter now (and every day) by clicking on the following link:

Through April 3, we’ll also be running a $15,000 Bracket Challenge with $10,000 to first. You’ve made your bracket picks and if you get the highest score you could walk away with $10,000. Tonight we have a battle between the 2007-08 Boston Celtics and the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors. Click here to enter.

And don’t forget, FANDUEL is running a FREEROLL contest based off the Awesemo Sim for tonight’s game. To get in, just follow THIS LINK.

Additional details regarding both the $15,000 Bracket Challenge and the Daily Contests, including full Terms and Conditions, are available here: http://https://bit.ly/FanDueleNBA. Thank you for supporting us and we’re thrilled to have this opportunity to give something back. We aren’t going anywhere and hope you feel the same.

FanDuel NBA DFS Sim Sports Rules

  • Players are randomly assigned stats from a game they played during the 2019-2020 season.
  • Only players who have scored fantasy points in at least 15 games will be included in the pool.
  • The opponent matchups in each slate are irrelevant for the simulations.
  • Only games where players scored more than zero points will be available to be assigned stats, No DNPs or Late Scratches.
  • Scoring Example: LeBron James draws a 23 – he will get assigned the stats and Fantasy Points from the 23rd game he played this season: 65.4. Each player will be assigned a different random game.
  • Again listed matchups do not matter.

NBA DFS Picks: Top Tier

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Giannis is the most expensive player on the slate at $11,400. He deserves this price tag, however, as he is the best fantasy producer in the league. If we use five times salary plus 10 points as a target score, Giannis has a 19.0 percent chance of reaching his target score, which is the fourth highest among players that are at least $9,000 in salary. Giannis has a little bit of extra value because he is a small forward, however, and he is nearly twice as likely to exceed his target score as fellow small forward LeBron James.

James Harden

Harden benefits from the games that he played without Russell Westbrook this season as it increases his ceiling. He has exceeded his target score in 27.4 percent of his games this season, making him the most likely top-tier option to do so tonight.

Luka Doncic

Doncic is slightly less expensive than Harden at $10,800 and is the top point guard on the slate. He has exceeded his 64 point target score in 19.4 percent of his games this season with a ceiling of 70.9 fantasy points.

Trae Young

Young is available at an $800 discount from Doncic. He has exceeded his target score in 19 percent of games this season and actually has a slightly higher ceiling than Doncic with three games greater than 70.9 FanDuel points.

NBA DFS Picks: Mid Tier

Kristaps Porzingis

Porzingis may be the best play on the entire slate at $7,900. Not only has he exceeded his 49.5 FanDuel point target score in 31.4 percent of his games this season, but his absolute ceiling is 75.6 points — more than Giannis, Doncic and Young. Porzingis has a total of three games over 60 points this season, making him one of the highest-upside and highest-probability plays on the slate.

Jonathan Isaac

Isaac offers value because he has had several monster games this season as a result of FanDuel’s emphasis on blocks and steals. He also has only played 32 games this season, which increases the probability of getting one of those ceiling games. Overall, he has exceeded his target score in 25 percent of his games which is one of the highest chances of success that we can find in the mid-range tonight. It also helps that he is small forward eligible since that is typically the weakest position.

NBA DFS Picks: Value Tier

Christian Wood

Wood is one of the highest-upside values on the slate as he costs only $4,900 and has exceeded 34.5 FanDuel points in 35.3 percent of his games this season. Not only does he have a greater than 35 percent chance of reaching his target score, but he has at least 40 fantasy points in 16.1 percent of his games this season. The downside to rostering Wood is that he has failed to reach 15 fantasy points in greater than 25 percent of his games this season. Assuming a large percentage of the field will roster Wood, fading him puts you in a great spot if he is assigned a dud since it will essentially make it impossible for all of the lineups with him to win.

Marquese Chriss

Chriss is similar to Wood in that he has a low floor due to games where he was the second- or third-string center, but he also has a very high ceiling for his salary as a result of games where he was the starting center for Golden State. Overall, he has exceeded his 33-point target score in 20.3 percent of games this season with five games over 40 points.

Shabazz Napier

Napier has at least 32.5 points in 25.4 percent of his games played between the Timberwolves and the Wizards this season. Napier is another player with a low floor as he has failed to reach 20 fantasy points in 49 percent of his games this season.

Tim Hardaway

Hardaway is a strong small forward value if you choose to pay up at other positions and can’t afford Giannis. Hardaway has scored at least 32.5 points in 25 percent of his games this season with a ceiling of 48.3 points.
