How to Play at Jock MKT
To begin, enter the NBA Daily Market when the Initial Public Offering (IPO) phase is under way. Leading up until the start of the first game, bid up on players you are interested in acquiring on the open market. Is there a player who you consider a favorite to finish at the top of the rankings? Invest as much or as little as you want in their fantasy performance, with shares beginning at $1 and ranging all the way up to $25. See potential injury news that could open up an opportunity for another player to acquire fantasy points? Make speculative bids for shares of the backup, hoping for that news to break after the IPO phase is complete.
The next part of the game occurs during live trading. Unlike in regular NBA DFS where your plays are locked in, you can buy and sell shares of players while the games are happening based on their production and where you could see them finishing amongst the field. Track as current points, projected points and live price for each player is updated in real time, allowing you to track the action and invest in an instant to account for news. Trading can be done all the way up until the final buzzer of the night’s final game.
At the end of the games, each player share is paid out based on their final rankings of fantasy points amongst the field. If the shares you own are worth more than what you paid, you win money. It’s as simple as that. For more information, go to jockmkt.com.

Strategy Session — Depth Issues Create Opportunities
During the IPO phase, it might be best to focus on players on teams who are lacking depth. For this seven-game slate, a few teams stand out. First of all, the Nets are already a top-heavy squad after they traded away some of their depth to acquire James Harden. However, they will be even more limited Tuesday with Kevin Durant sidelined because of the health-and-safety protocols. Not only does that make it appealing to target Harden and Kyrie Irving for their matchup with the Pistons, but it also makes some of their secondary players more interesting. Trying to lock in Harden during the IPO phase might be wise.
Another team that is short on depth is the Magic, who will be playing without Aaron Gordon (ankle), Evan Fournier (back) and Markelle Fultz (knee). They also play on the West Coast against the Trail Blazers. If there are some disappointing performances from stars in the early games, then the price of someone like Nikola Vucevic could skyrocket leading up to tip off. The Blazers have the second-worst defensive rating in the league, so Vucevic could really thrive with the added shot attempts that he will likely receive. It might be worth considering trying to lock him in during the IPO phase.
A key injury to monitor is that of Jaylen Brown (knee), who is listed as questionable versus the Jazz. He’s already missed the last two games with the injury, and the Celtics are still without Marcus Smart (calf), which has further compromised their backcourt. If Brown is ruled out again, not only could a crazy bidding war break out for Jayson Tatum, but a bump could also be seen for players like Payton Pritchard and Jeff Teague.
My Targets for Tonight
Jerami Grant – My two favorite options are Harden and Vucevic, but Grant is right up there with them. He has a great matchup against the Nets, who have the fourth-worst defensive rating in the league. Durant is obviously known for his scoring abilities, but he’s also a good defender, so Grant could dominate this contest with him out. Also working in his favor is that the trade of Derrick Rose takes away one of the few viable scoring options that he was playing alongside, so Grant could see even more scoring opportunities moving forward.
Cole Anthony – While Vucevic is the big name on the Magic to target, don’t sleep on Anthony. With so few ball handlers left on the team, the rookie has averaged 5.7 assists across his last six contests. He has also averaged 12.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 0.8 steals during that stretch thanks to his average of 31 minutes a night. He’s only averaged 27 minutes per contest for the season, but he could regularly top 30 minutes a game moving forward until the team’s health situation improves.
Jakob Poeltl – Poeltl has started the last three games with LaMarcus Aldridge (hip) out, including facing the Warriors on Monday, the same team that he will face again Tuesday. He thrived in the matchup, posting 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. The Warriors have been forced to play small with injuries piling up at center, so Poeltl has the potential to at least approach another double-double in their rematch.
