Week 17 First Look: DraftKings & FanDuel NFL DFS Picks

NFL DFS Picks: Quarterback

Drew BreesStill alive for the top overall seed in the NFL, the Saints project to play their starters in Week 17. They are 6.5-point favorites against the Panthers in a game totaled at 47. 5points. After completing just 44% of his passes in his return from injury, Brees rebounded last week against the Vikings with 311 passing yards. Priced at $5,900 and $7,400 on DraftKings and FanDuel, Brees makes sense as a value quarterback.

Matt RyanRyan is also priced affordably and looks like a potential quarterback option facing Tampa Bay in Week 17. Projected to trail in a game totaled at 50.5 points, Ryan should again find himself throwing the ball frequently. Last time these teams met, Ryan recorded 356 passing yards and three touchdowns, and Calvin Ridley recorded 10 catches for 163 yards. This stack looks viable again in Week 17.

NFL DFS Picks: Running Back

Jeff WilsonRaheem Mostert is on injured reserve, and in his stead Wilson racked up 183 yards on 22 carries in San Francisco’s Week 16 win over the Arizona Cardinals. Only ceding three combined carries to Jerick McKinnon and Tevin Coleman, Wilson projects to handle another sizeable workload against Seattle this weekend. He is priced at $6,000 and $6,300 on DraftKings and FanDuel and provides a salary-saving option at running back.

Myles GaskinGaskin immediately resumed lead back responsibilities following his return from the COVID list. He rushed 14 times for 87 yards, adding 82 yards on five receptions in the pass game. This week, Miami faces the Bills in a game projected to be competitive. The Dolphins will secure a playoff berth with a win, while the Bills will lock up the No. 2 seed. Active in both phases of the game, Gaskin is another cheap running back option.

NFL DFS Picks: Wide Receiver

Stefon DiggsThe Bills, with a chance at the second seed, likely will play their starters for a majority of this week’s game. Diggs enters this contest fresh off a nine-catch, 145-yard, three-touchdown performance on Monday Night Football. Diggs leads the NFL in targets (160), receptions (120) and yards receiving (1,459). For those looking at a pivot off Davante Adams, Diggs offers similar upside at a cheaper price.

Diontae Johnson In a competitive Week 17, Johnson still looks underpriced at $6,700 and $6,800 on DraftKings and FanDuel. Johnson currently holds a 23.9% target share with double-digit targets in six of his last seven games. While Johnson missed the previous showdown between these two opponents, he looks poised to ride his heavy target volume in Week 17.

NFL DFS Picks: Tight End

George KittleWith the Chiefs projected to rest their starters, Kittle stands out as a strong price-adjusted play at the tight end position. Immediately upon his return last week, Kittle led the 49ers with a 23.8% target share. He also racked up a team-leading 92 yards receiving as C.J. Beathard‘s preferred target. Showing no signs of resting to close out the season, Kittle is a value at $6,000 and $6,800 on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Hayden HurstFor those looking at punt tight ends, Hurst is cheap in a strong game environment. Correlated to Ryan, Hurst also performed well in Atlanta’s previous outing against Tampa Bay. Hurst reeled in four of five targets for 21 yards receiving and a score, while Atlanta rang up 27 total points. Still priced affordably across DFS platforms, Hurst makes sense on the Week 17 DFS main slate.
