Low-Priced Value Plays: Week 5 NFL DFS Picks | DraftKings + FanDuel

With four weeks in the books, both FanDuel and DraftKings released an array of exciting contests ahead of Week 5. While prices adjusted, a few low-priced value plays stand out in the NFL DFS player pool.

Low-Price Value Plays: DraftKings + FanDuel NFL DFS Picks

Quarterback

Teddy Bridgewater ($5,900 DraftKings/$7,100 FanDuel)

A surprisingly efficient player to start the season, Bridgewater currently averages 8.1 yards per pass attempt (10th) with a 73% completion percentage. Bridgewater currently averages 287 passing yards per game and now faces a depleted Atlanta Falcons’ secondary.

Through four games, the Falcons have allowed 8.1 yards per pass attempt. Despite playing without their top two pass catchers, the Packers still racked up 327 passing yards on this depleted defense. The Falcons have now allowed over 300 passing yards to every opponent on their schedule to date.

With D.J. Moore and Robby Anderson providing a spark at wide receiver, Bridgewater looks like a solid low-priced value play in Week 5.

Running Back

Mike Davis ($6,400 DraftKings/$6,800 FanDuel)

The second Panther to make the low-priced value plays list, Davis is too cheap for his projected role in Carolina’s offense. Already seeing a bulk of the backfield work, Carolina also just placed Reggie Bonnafon on injured reserve. Now the lone back in Carolina, Davis provides immense value in Week 5.

With Christian McCaffrey already out of the picture, Davis received 13 and 16 carries in back-to-back weeks. More importantly, Davis assumed McCaffrey’s receiving usage with target counts of eight, nine and six in his three games. Davis also ran a route on 71% and 60% of Carolina’s dropbacks over the last two weeks, putting him in elite volume territory.

In a similar role, McCaffrey routinely found himself priced at $10,000. While Davis isn’t McCaffrey, his role warrants and increased price tag. With DFS sites slow to adjust price, Davis is a top low-priced value play in Week 5.

Wide Receiver

Marquise Brown ($6,300 DraftKings/$6,100 FanDuel)

The victim of multiple blowouts this year, Brown only has 16 catches for 242 yards to start the season. The Ravens are routinely demolishing opponents, so they remain the second run-heaviest team in football. With a competitive Bengals team on the other side of this matchup, Brown is a solid value play this week.

Despite the box score concerns, Brown ranks top five in target share and air yards share in the NFL. Currently seeing 26.5% of Baltimore’s targets, Brown hasn’t dropped below six targets in a single game so far this season. The Bengals have scored at least 23 points in each of their last three games while giving up at least 23 in each of those spots as well.

Playing in a competitive game totaled at 51.5 points, Brown holds slate-breaking potential as a low-priced value play in Week 5.

Darius Slayton ($4,800 DraftKings/$5,800 FanDuel)

After a tough stretch to start the season, the Giants face off against the Cowboys defense this weekend. The Cowboys have allowed at least 38 points in each of their last three game, setting up New York for a bounce-back spot. Priced egregiously low, Slayton looks like a value play worth targeting.

Despite the tough stretch of game, Slayton continues to play a sizeable role in New York’s offense. Slayton holds a 20.4% target share with at least six targets in every game this season. He also leads New York in air yards with a 36.8%. Dallas currently ranks in the bottom 10 of yards allowed per pass attempt, setting up Slayton for potential success.

Priced egregiously low, Slayton is one of the top price-adjusted value plays across DFS platforms this weekend.

Tight End

Eric Ebron ($4,000 DraftKings/$5,100 FanDuel)

After running a route on just 19% of drop backs in Week 1, Ebron has now logged a route on over 73% of Ben Roethlisberger dropbacks in back-to-back weeks. While the matchup doesn’t look friendly against the Eagles, Ebron’s opportunity quietly stands out in the low price range ahead of Week 5.

With elevated route rates the last two weeks, Ebron logged five and seven targets, respectively. In his most recent game, Ebron parlayed this volume into five receptions for 52 yards and a score. Struggling against tight ends, the Eagles just allowed 15 receptions, 183 yards and a score to George Kittle last week.

With an increasing offensive role and a sneaky matchup on deck, Ebron looks like a top low-priced value play on the Week 5 DFS slate.
