NFL DFS Picks – Optimizer Groups-Think: Week 16 Saturday Slate

DraftKings + FanDuel NFL DFS Stack Rules:

QB with at least one RB/WR/TE from Opposing Team

QB with at least one WR/TE from Same Team (note: It’s fine to make this two or to utilize two of these, one with WR/TE and one with RB/WR/TE, but we can refine that and get it exactly how we want it via Groups)

QB with at most zero DST from Same Team (personal preference)

Limit Rules:

Limit QB/RB/WR/TE from Same Team to three

Limit RB/WR/TE from Same Team to one unless paired with QB from Same Team OR Opposing Team

Limit RB from Same Team to one (I’m also doing this with WR in a separate rule that adds an “unless paired with QB or opposing QB” but it’s personal preference for NFL DFS)

Construction:

Add players to groups. Select the quarterback (or otherwise indicated player) as the Key Player for both his team’s group and the recommended opposing group. This is a different group than the group that will stack the other side of this game. For example, I will have four groups for the Detroit at Arizona game: Detroit, Detroit Opposing, Arizona and Arizona Opposing.

NFL Team Groups: Saturday Slate

Arizona Cardinals

Key Player: Kyler Murray

Setting: At least one

Group: DeAndre Hopkins, Christian Kirk, Chase Edmonds (Q), Larry Fitzgerald, Dan Arnold (Andy Isabella is likely out again for Week 16. I’m restricting Kenyan Drake but keeping Chase Edmonds based on passing game volume and overall projection. Edmonds is questionable but did get in a practice, I expect him to play)

Opposing Setting: At most one

Group: Brandon Aiyuk, Kendrick Bourne, Richie James, Jordan Reed, George Kittle (Kittle is back from his foot injury, though his role is somewhat up in the air)

Detroit Lions

Key Player: Matthew Stafford (Q) (Stafford is banged up and officially questionable with multiple injuries, but the Lions are not shutting him down and he plans to play the full game. Chase Daniel came in late last week when the game was out of hand, we could see the same again this week. Buyer beware)

Setting: At least one

Group: D’Andre Swift, Marvin Jones, Danny Amendola, T.J. Hockenson, Quintez Cephus, Mohamed Sanu (Kenny Golladay will miss Week 16)

Opposing Setting: At least one

Group: Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, Antonio Brown, Rob Gronkowski

Las Vegas Raiders

Key Player: Derek Carr (Carr is fully available for Week 16 after injuring his groin during last week’s game)

Setting: At least one

Group: Darren Waller, Hunter Renfrow, Nelson Agholor, Henry Ruggs (Q) (Ruggs was activated from the COVID-19 list but it remains a question how much volume he will see)

Opposing Setting: At least one

Group: Devante Parker (Q), Mike Gesicki (Q), Lynn Bowden, Jakeem Grant (D) (Parker and Gesicki are expected to play, Grant is likely to miss which would put Bowden in play. If Gesicki sits, backup tight end Durham Smythe is an option on DraftKings and FanDuel)

Never Miss An Active/Inactive Ever Again Don't get burned by a player being ruled out last minute, use our New NFL Depth Charts page to see starting lineups and inactive players for every team.

Miami Dolphins

Key Player: Tua Tagovailoa

Setting: At least one

Group: DeVante Parker (Q), Mike Gesicki (Q), Lynn Bowden, Jakeem Grant (D), (Myles Gaskin is returning from the COVID-19 list, Salvon Ahmed is a capable backup if Gaskin does not play. Parker and Gesicki are expected to play, Grant is likely to miss which would put Bowden in play. If Gesicki sits, backup tight end Durham Smythe is an option)

Opposing Setting: At least one

Group: Darren Waller, Hunter Renfrow, Nelson Agholor, Henry Ruggs (Q)

San Francisco 49ers

Key Player: Nick Mullens

Setting: At most one

Group: Kendrick Bourne, Brandon Aiyuk, Jordan Reed, Richie James, George Kittle (Kittle is back from his foot injury, though his role is somewhat up in the air)

Opposing Setting: At least one

Group: DeAndre Hopkins, Christian Kirk, Chase Edmonds (Q), Larry Fitzgerald, Dan Arnold

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Key Player: Tom Brady

Setting: At least one (I’ll run this at two in roughly half of my crunches)

Group: Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, Antonio Brown, Rob Gronkowski (Antonio Brown is seeing significant volume in the passing game)

Opposing Setting: At least one

Group: D’Andre Swift, Marvin Jones, Danny Amendola, T.J. Hockenson (I’m sticking to the most likely point producers here but feel free to add Cephus and Sanu if you’re feeling frisky)
