Top 4 NFL PrizePicks for Week 1 Monday Night Football | Raiders vs. Ravens

Monday Night Football for Week features with the Ravens as 4-point favorites on the road against the Raiders. Baltimore has lost two of their top running backs in preseason, while the Raiders struggled mightily against the run last year, ranking 21st in yards per carry allowed. With PrizePicks needing a different approach than the typical NFL DFS strategy, it is important to note that the name of the game is finding over/unders on player props or fantasy point totals for players in a specific game. With that said, let’s get into the best NFL PrizePicks for Week 1 Monday Night Football.

Week 1 Monday Night Football NFL PrizePicks

Ty’Son Williams Over 60.5 Yards Rushing

The Ravens have a lot of question marks around their new stable of running backs. One certainty, though, is that Williams is going to be the starter, and with the lack of practice time for Latavius Murray, Williams will likely have a great shot at leading their backfield in touches. The Raiders had a bottom-10 run defense last year, and Baltimore led the NFL in run plays per game at 34.6. Despite the Ravens losing so much running back depth, not much figures to change with their approach this year. Baltimore has a 27-point implied total and is favored by 4 points, so the opportunities should be big for Williams. He is projected for over 70 yards rushing this week, and his prop looks like a great over target on PrizePicks tonight.

Derek Carr Over 259.5 Yards Passing

Bryan Edwards Over 38.5 Yards Receiving

The Raiders are 4-point underdogs here and face a Ravens run defense that were pretty solid last season, allowing just 4.3 yards per carry. Where they are vulnerable is in the middle of the field, as they allowed the ninth-most yards receiving to opposing tight ends last season. The Raiders have a couple of good tight ends in Darren Waller and Foster Moreau, and their presence could help Carr pile up some yards quickly.

If targeting Carr’s over, then using Edwards with him makes a ton of sense, as any big night by Carr would almost certainly result in a few big plays from Edwards. Edwards won the Raiders WR2 job, impressing throughout camp. He was a prolific college receiver who averaged 13 yards per catch at South Carolina. With Nelson Agholor’s departure there are over 90 targets up for grabs in the Raiders offense this year, and while the Raiders will use Henry Ruggs a little more, Edwards is the bigger receiver who should also benefit from getting teams’ secondary coverage. Las Vegas may also be without Josh Jacobs (illness, questionable) today, which would likely only lead to a more pass-happy gameplan. Awesemo projects Edwards for 46 yards receiving this week.

Sammy Watkins Under 10 Fantasy Points

Watkins has a PrizePicks total of 10 fantasy points, which suggests that he might need to find the end zone to hit the over. The Ravens threw the ball less than any team in the NFL last year, and Watkins has never been a prolific touchdown scorer in the NFL, managing just eight touchdowns in three years with the Chiefs. Awesemo’s single-slate projections for Daily Fantasy (PPR scoring) have him projected for just 6.54 points tonight. It is possible one of the Ravens wide receivers will get loose for a long touchdown, but with Marquise Brown and others still in the mix, this total for Watkins is too high.
