Yahoo NFL Picks: Rankings & Values for Optimal Week 13 DFS Lineups

Week 13 of the NFL is here, and Awesemo has a ton of great tools and NFL DFS rankings to tackle all the largest contests in DFS. This article will go through and highlight some of the week’s highest-projected Yahoo NFL picks at each position on the Week 13 main slate. It will also provide insight into rostership projections and provide some other matchup information for optimal Yahoo NFL picks for daily fantasy lineups each week.

Week 13 Yahoo NFL Picks, Grades & Values

Top Graded QB: Lamar Jackson | Grades: A, Values: C

Lamar Jackson tops the Awesemo projections at quarterback and is even projecting with less than 10% rostership as well. The Ravens have just a 24.25 implied team total, which might be scaring some people off targeting this game, but Week 13 is rife with bad weather spots and low totals, so Jackson’s innate rushing upside should be viewed as even more valuable in times like this. Pittsburgh is also banged up on defense (Joe Haden and T.J. Watt are questionable) and have allowed an embarrassing 82 points over their last two games. Targeting Jackson against this severely eroding Steelers defense is a great idea in Week 13.

Top Value QB: Carson Wentz | Grades: C, Values: A

Carson Wentz is popping in the Awesemo model but is getting way more attention on Yahoo. Wentz is projecting as the most popular player on Yahoo at quarterback, but it is for good reason. The Colts have a 27.75-point implied team total, the third highest on the main slate, and Wentz has gone for 20 or more Yahoo points in four of his last six games. Wentz has the best value score among all quarterbacks and can be paired with Jonathan Taylor who will also be heavily rostered.

Top Graded RB: Jonathan Taylor | Grades: A, Values: D

There is no secrecy, as the Colts’ offensive studs are in a great matchup and have the potential to go off against a thin Houston defense. The Texans have allowed 4.5 yards per carry this year and match up horribly against Taylor, who has averaged 5.8 yards per carry this year and 24 attempts in the last three Colts wins. Taylor is going to be popular, but with a lot of DFS players also piling on the value options at running back, using him as part of a heavy Colts stack or a double pay-up tandem at the position will lead to more unique lineups.

Top Value RB: Alexander Mattison | Grades: A, Values: A

Alexander Mattison has already produced two games with 20 or more Yahoo this year when filling in for Dalvin Cook. Now he gets to face the Lions again in a spot where he should push for 20 touches. It should come as no shock that he has the highest value score at just $18, and while he is pushing towards 40% rostered, the presence of other value options means he may not be as highly rostered, as he should be in this extremely high upside matchup.

Cook grades out as one of the best values on the slate, but Awesemo NFL writer Billy Ward has even more players who fit that bill this week in his Week 13 NFL DFS Value Picks.

Top Graded WR: Keenan Allen | Grades: A, Values: C

The Bengals and Chargers game may be facing a little bit of weather concerns, but this is still a great spot for the Chargers passing attack to continue its run of solid DFS production. Keenan Allen is taking on a Bengals defensive unit who has allowed 8.5 yards per pass attempt over the last three games and has been beaten up by other elite wide receivers, at various points this year. Allen has a top-five point projection and comes in drastically cheaper than the top priced wide-outs, at just $25, making him a great blend of upside and value for Week 13.

Top Value WR: Hunter Renfrow| Grades: A, Values: A

It is a little surprising that the Raiders pass catchers are not catching more love in this spot. Washington has been a bottom five pass defense all season and have given up the fourth-most receptions and touchdowns to the wide receiver position this year. Hunter Renfrow has seen nine targets in his last two games, with no Henry Ruggs in the lineup, and is coming off a monster Week 12 where he went for 16.34 yards per catch (134 yards total). At under 20$ he grades out as the best value at the position and one that seems to be going a little under the radar at the moment.

Top Graded TE: George Kittle | Grades: A, Values: C

Despite Deebo Samuel being ruled out and the 49ers taking on an increasing bad Seahawks pass defense, there is not a ton of love for George Kittle forming at the moment. The tight end is projecting for just 2.6% rostership which just seems wrong based on the lack of viable upside plays at tight end for the Week 13 main slate. The Awesemo model loves him as it has Kittle with the best points projection at his position on Yahoo by over two points. He is an effective way to get exposure to the 49ers offense which has a solid 24.5 implied team total.

Top Value TE: James O’Shaughnessy | Grades: C, Values: B

The Jaguars lost Dan Arnold to IR last week and the immediate impact of that injury led to James O’Shaughnessy playing on over 80% of the snaps in Week 12. This may not seem like a major DFS development, but cheap tight ends can be vital for roster construction and the Jaguars will likely have lots of pass attempts late in’s game against the Rams, whom they are -12.5 underdogs against. O’Shaughnessy rates out with rostership under 5%, is the stone minimum at $10 in salary, and has the second-best value score at his position. He is a solid punt target for Week 13.
