Yahoo NFL Picks: Week 13 Sunday Night Football | Broncos vs. Chiefs Tonight

Tonight the Kansas City Chiefs are hosting the Denver Broncos in the featured Sunday Night Football matchup, and Yahoo is offering NFL DFS single-game contests. The general concept of creating a team remains the same, but this is a one-game player pool. The twist is that any position player can be rostered, and one is designated to receive a 1.5x multiplier on their Yahoo points. Using Awesemo’s expert NFL projections and rankings, these are the top Yahoo NFL picks for the Week 13 Sunday Night Football game tonight.

Yahoo NFL Picks: Week 13 Sunday Night Football

Top SUPERSTAR Options

The SUPERSTAR position will get a 1.5x multiplier on their Yahoo points in the single-game format. Awesemo’s NFL DFS optimizer creates daily fantasy football cheat sheets. Check out who is popping in the Yahoo NFL DFS cheat sheet for the Week 13 Sunday Night Football game.

Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs – $35

Tonight Patrick Mahomes is at his lowest salary in five single-game slates. Only once in his last five games has Mahomes surpassed 15 Yahoo points, and that was on Sunday Night Football against the Raiders in Las Vegas. In that game Mahomes was 35-for-50, rolling up 406 yards and five touchdowns. In the other four games in this stretch he has two total touchdowns. The volume has been there in these substandard performances, as he is averaging 39.3 pass attempts, though he has only 226 yards per game to show for it. One key thing in his favor is that the Denver defense is not all that it is cracked up to be based on their reputation. The other intangible is coach Andy Reid’s 19-3 record after bye weeks in the regular season. For additional perspective, including postseason Reid is 7-3 when having an extra week to prepare, even when going against playoff teams.

Mahomes is one of the best options for SUPERSTAR on Yahoo, but Matt Savoca has an even more in-depth look at his outlook tonight from a DraftKings and FanDuel standpoint in his Week 13 Sunday Night Football NFL DFS Showdown Game Breakdown.

Tyreek Hill, Kansas City Chiefs – $33

There is a very valid argument for giving Tyreek Hill the SUPERSTAR designation tonight instead of his quarterback. Hill is generally thought of a as a boom/bust player for his big-play proclivity. That is still true, though this season he is getting heavy volume and is second in the league in targets per game with just over 11, which he is turning into 84.7 yards (fifth in NFL). Though he has only nine plays of 20 or more yards, he is fourth in touchdowns receiving with eight.

Yahoo NFL Core Picks

Javonte Williams, Denver Broncos – $21

Melvin Gordon is out this week, so rookie Javonte Williams will be consolidating what was a split backfield workload. Williams contributes in all facets of the game, and he is a solid receiver as well. Kansas City has the 28th-ranked run DVOA, and the Broncos have a run-heavy offense.

Jerry Jeudy, Denver Broncos – $18

After suffering an ankle injury in Week 1, Jerry Jeudy was on the injured reserve for nearly two months before returning in Week 8. Courtland Sutton ($14) and Tim Patrick ($16) have played around 80-90% of the snaps in this stretch, while Jeudy is working in for 60-75% as their relief and on three-receiver sets. Since his return Sutton has taken the biggest hit, and he is averaging just three targets per game; Jeudy has double that. Patrick is splitting the difference, and he is also a viable option if there are salary constraints that prevent rostering Jeudy. Teddy Bridgewater is not known for throwing the ball downfield, and that is capping the upside of Sutton now that he is competing for the mid-range routes with Jeudy and Patrick.

Yahoo NFL Value Picks

Kansas City Discount Dandies

The Kansas City offense is heavily concentrated with Hill and Travis Kelce ($27). Clyde Edwards-Helaire played half the snaps in his first game back from injured reserve but doubled the touches of Darrel Williams ($13). Edwards-Helaire has been dealing with the flu, but he is expected to play tonight. Williams is fine as a punt option since Reid trusts him more in the passing game and he is a capable runner. If this feels like deja vu, Edwards-Helaire was active last year in Week 13 against Denver, but he did not see the field due to an illness.

Mecole Hardman ($11) will be a popular cheapie, and while he is only getting a handful of targets per game, this is a bargain. Byron Pringle ($12) usually seems to make his presence known in the prime-time games, and he is projected for half the popularity of Hardman.
