There is a ton of playoff implications for tonight’s slate. Three out of the four games in tonight’s NHL DFS slate are elimination games. The Flyers, Avalanche, and the Bruins can all move on to the second round with a victory tonight. Let’s get into it, good luck!
As always, be sure to check our premium Slack for crucial lineup information in the 20-30 minutes leading up to every game’s lock. These NHL playoffs have been rife with significant line changes at the last minute, and with team media/PR sometimes not posting lines in a timely manner, we are left holding the bag. It’s hard to do 3-4 times per day, just try as often as possible.
NHL DFS Picks: Forwards
Nazem Kadri (COL at ARI): DraftKings – $5,400; FanDuel – $5,700
Nazem Kadri has been a massive thorn in the side of the Phoenix Coyotes. Since the return, Kadri has nine points in seven games, while playing about 17 minutes a night. He has relished the opportunity to play alongside Nathan MacKinnon on the top power play unit, and he has made the most of his opportunities. Among forwards, Kadri sits second in the playoffs with 28 shots on goal in seven games, equating out to four shots per game. He is getting pucks to the net and he’s playing a good role as the net front presence on the top power play unit. Kadri Makes for a fine cash play tonight and getting “cheaper” exposure to the likes of Nathan Mackinnon and the top power play line is always a good idea. I think the Av’s close it out tonight.
Patrice Bergeron (BOS vs CAR): DraftKings – $7,300; FanDuel – $
The Center position isn’t ripe with a ton of “value” plays on this NHL DFS slate. Paying up for Nathan MacKinnon will most likely be the popular play. The Bruins came out of the layoff playing horrible hockey. They seemed to have knocked the rust off and found a groove, even without David Pastrnak. Bergeron has always been known as one of the best two-way pivots in the league, and he isn’t afraid to shoot the puck. He will most likely be hard matched against the Sebastian Aho line, but he can still find success. Since Boston has lost David Pastrnak, the Bruins top line of Bergeron – Brad Marchand – Charlie Coyle has been elite by the numbers. It is a small sample of 70 minutes and should not be taken as an end all be all, but they are creating 44 shots for per 60, 50 scoring chances per 60, and 18 high danger chances per 60. All with an expected goals of 3.53 xgf/60. finally, Bergeron has over five shots on goal in each of the past two games, and he makes for a strong play tonight in an elimination game.
David Perron (STL vs VAN): DraftKings – $5,800; FanDuel – $
David Perron has been a consistent producer for the Blues, and he always seems to find the back of the net in meaningful games. The winger has eight points in seven games, and he has been averaging over three shots a game. With the Blues losing Vladimir Tarasenko, they need guys to step up and fill the void. Guys like Ryan O’Reilly and David Perron will likely see extra ice time in the crucial minutes while trying to contain the young snipers from Vancouver.

NHL DFS Picks: Defensemen
Alex Pietrangelo (STL vs VAN): DraftKings – $6,400; FanDuel – $
Alex Pietrangelo has raised his game and has become a standard name in the elite NHL DFS world. The blue liner does it all, he’s averaging over 23 minutes of ice time over the last five games, while having a crazy floor of 5.5 shots / blocks per game. Pietrangelo is quarterbacking the top power play and having at least four shots on goal in four of the last five games makes him squarely in play for me tonight.
Alexander Edler (STL vs VAN): DraftKings – $5,500; FanDuel – $
The top six defensemen are all in play for tonight’s NHL DFS slate, but Edler has been ridiculously consistent during these playoffs. Yeah, he’s lost his top power play designation, but that’s not that big of a deal when it comes to his production. Edler has double digit fantasy points in six of his last eight games, and that is because of his rock-solid floor. The Blues have been shooting the puck a good amount lately and that means more blocks for Edler. In the eight games since the return, Edler is averaging just under SIX shots / blocks per game.
Other guys moving down the value list to look at as fill ins: Charlie Mcavoy, Chris Tanev, Erik Johnson.
NHL DFS Picks: Stacks

Boston 1: Brad Marchand – Patrice Bergeron – Charlie Coyle
St Louis 2: Jaden Schwartz – Ryan O’reilly – David Perron – Pietrangelo
Carolina 3: Warren Foegele – Jordan Staal – Brock McGinn
