This slate features five games. First off, let’s remind everyone of the Votts media list and a few links to follow one more time.
When you are making your teams, one needs to make sure your goalie is actually confirmed and starting. Sites like Dailyfaceoff.com, Leftwinglock.com, and Goaliepost.com are great places for information. Another great source exists in team the form of team beat writers. Jeff has created a list on Twitter @Votts_DFS for all of the NHL teams, and a separate list of all the beat writers for you to follow, it’s a great tool and a necessity. The advanced stats that I use and reference in this article come from Corsica.hockey and naturalstattrick.com.

Prices are in DraftKings first and then FanDuel second.
Skater Plays For Monday
High Priced Shots
Patrick Kane ($7,700) — The recommended play here is reasonable given his price per point is so high and matchup. Kane also expects to play well above 20 minutes tonight as Chicago is relying on him more and more offensively. Expect plenty of double shifts and extended power play time. Carolina may not always yield a ton of chances at even strength but their penalty kill is around 71% at home. His $8,500 price tag on FanDuel is steep but again if he plays 25 minutes, the likelihood of value increases.
Viktor Arvidsson ($6,400) — Arvidsson becomes a lower cost alternative to Filip Forsberg on Monday night against an Anaheim team that bleeds shots and chances allowed. That number is around 40 by the way and Nashville is scoring four goals a game on the road. These Nashville-Anaheim games often take on a life of their own so do keep that in mind. The Nashville power play which is among the league’s worst, may get a boost here. Arvidsson’s speed could be a problem all night for Anaheim. At $6,500 on FanDuel, the winger is also at a reasonable price.
Tyler Seguin ($7,200) — Seguin found the back of the net in his last two games which is great given that double digit game drought he had. Columbus presents an attractive matchup and his FanDuel price of $7,500 is not cost prohibitive if one can use Alex Radulov in their lineups. A power play stack for Dallas may just work on Monday night. One could argue a Columbus alternative featuring the Columbus top line — including Cam Atkinson and Pierre Luc-Dubois. More high-priced choices will be available via social media closer to lock tonight.
Into The Middle
Andrei Svechnikov ($4,400) — Svechnikov on the top line was as good as it sounded over the weekend as he had five shots and four scoring chances in a little over 16 minutes. The only catch was the execution. He tallied no goals or points but Carolina generated 52 shots overall as the top line topped double digits in shots easily. Chicago has regularly yielded 35+ shots a game on the road and the winger could top 5+ shots again. He is only $3,600 on FanDuel which makes him a nice value play on Monday night.
Pierre-Luc Dubois ($5,500) — It is acceptable to take some risks in this price range. Dubois has six goals in his last nine games while averaging nearly three shots a night. Columbus has been getting more goal scoring from Dubois as Artemi Panarin has been doing more distributing of late. Goals are essential in tournaments and the increased shot volume helps as well. His price is still good on both sites ($5,500 also on FanDuel). Dallas may not appear to be the most ideal matchup but the Columbus top line has been one of the better ones on the road in the early going generating top-ten level scoring chances per 60.
P.K. Subban ($5,600) — Subban shoots like most forwards from the point averaging over three per game. His goal production for the price on FanDuel may be a bit steep ($6,300) but is not terrible. Nashville will get all the point shots it wants since they are playing Anaheim tonight. Can the Predators score enough? Going theory says yes. Neal Pionk is also a decent alternative for a little less money and he is providing about the same amount of points.
Throwing Some Darts
Ryan Hartman ($3,600) — The Gritty Kitty game of the night is Anaheim and Nashville. For those who do not get the “Ren And Stimpy” reference, we preface to say that this matchup could have unexpected bottom six scoring more than the others. Hartman has surprising speed and will get chances. He is a physical player and does carry risk because of his tendency to take silly penalties but at $3,400 on FanDuel, he is worth at least a shot somewhere.
Ben Hutton ($4,600) — Risk exists with Hutton as far as his DraftKings price but his $3,800 price on FanDuel may be the play here. Consider that Hutton has most of his points of late and has a decent floor (23 shots and 23 blocked shots). His increased ice time has also been a boost in the wake of the Alex Edler injury. Though the Vancouver bubble could burst at any time, if it is not broke, why not keep plugging it in. Tony DeAngelo will be another choice and has seven points in nine games this year for the New York Rangers.
Goading The Goaliespot
Again, our best bet with this slate is to simply wait for confirmations to come in.
Unfortunately, the waiting is real as there is no confirmations at this time.
- Ben Bishop
- Henrik Lundqvist
- Scott Darling
Best of luck on Monday! This will be a crazy ride. More information comes later on slack and social media.
