College hoops is off to a good start. Now that we’ve gotten a look at most teams a couple of times, it’s time to really dive in. I have a couple of college basketball betting spots I’m looking to get in on for Wednesday’s fantastic slate of games. College Basketball Betting: CBB Odds, Picks & Best Bets

Texas vs. North Carolina: Texas +1 (-110)

Experience is key early in any college basketball season, but I think it’s even more crucial this year. The Longhorns returned literally every piece from last year’s team (99% of minutes played) and even added in the transfer market. Texas struggled a bit with Davidson, but after getting through, they put an absolute thumping on an Indiana team that has top-25 potential. Texas is better than its ranking, and I expect that to be on display even more in the early going.

North Carolina has a couple of upperclassmen that are key contributors, but they also need to rely on an impressive freshman class. As talented as they are, this is the type of matchup that should cause problems. Caleb Love had a team-high 16 points in a narrow win over Stanford yesterday, but he draws a tougher matchup today. I don’t think we’ll see the same type of performance. The Longhorns are all the way up at No. 4 in KenPom, which speaks to the potential here.

Gonzaga/Baylor Moneyline Parlay (-120)

I know this is square city. Both underdogs covered in the heavyweight matchups on Tuesday, with Michigan State winning outright. Kentucky was a bit more of a sketchy situation and is also a big reason I don’t want to lay any points tonight. I trust both of these favorites in these matchups and just want to go for the win.

Gonzaga is no doubt the best team in the country, putting a whooping on Kansas on Friday. I don’t see any team getting in their way at this stage of the season. The Bulldogs have insane offensive talent and versatility, and they will just outscore anyone put in front of them.

Baylor and Illinois should be a closer matchup of two top-five teams. However, Illinois hasn’t been tested yet and had to battle to the end with Ohio. Illinois has two legitimate NBA players, but the Bears are an extremely polished team returning nearly everyone from last season. Baylor crashes the glass, plays tremendous defense and has solid scoring options. The chemistry is there with the veteran unit. Like the Kansas game, I don’t feel like messing around with 4.5 points. One can dominate the game and be up 7 with 10 seconds left and still get backdoored. I’m confident enough in Gonzaga that we’ll just have to sweat out a much more comfortable moneyline bet on Baylor in the nightcap.
