NBA Picks and Predictions based on NBA Odds Shopping | Heat vs. Bucks | Sept. 2

Miami Heat (44-29) vs. Milwaukee Bucks (56-17)
Date: Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020
Time: 6:30 p.m. ET
Venue: ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex – Kissimmee, FL
Coverage: ESPN

In Game 1, the Heat backcourt got the job done. Goran Dragic continued his hot play in the postseason, putting up 27 points and finishing with a +10 plus/minus. However, it was Butler and his 13-of-20 shooting that headlined Game 1. He led the game with 40 points. It was a balanced overall approach for the well-rested Heat in Game 1, going nine players deep with eight seeing double-digit minutes.

While the backcourt for Miami was impressive, Milwaukee was missing their starting point guard, Eric Bledsoe. At the time of writing, we do not know his status for Game 2. Khris Middleton led the Bucks in shooting, scoring 28 points on a game-high 24 shots.

When looking at the box score, the Bucks had a very good game. They shot 49.3% from the field and drained 16 3-pointers, both of which were better than the Heat. However, Miami grabbed 12 offensive rebounds compared to Milwaukee’s seven. The Heat also had three fewer turnovers.

The reigning MVP, Giannis Antetokounmpo, had a tough game. Yes, he shot 50%, but he put up just 12 shots and missed eight free throws. He was also the largest contributor to the turnovers with six. For the Bucks to bounce back, Giannis needs to convert on the opportunities he is given, and we need to see a more aggressive version of him. Taking 12 shots is not enough.

Heat vs. Bucks NBA Picks + Prop Bets

Brook Lopez – Points: Over 14.5 (-106)

Lopez continued to play well last game, putting up 24 points. He has scored at least 15 points in four of his last five games. Lopez has also fared well against Miami all season long, putting up 17 or more points in three straight matchups, averaging 18.5 points against them overall this season. He will continue getting open jump shots. It’s up to him to knock them down.

Brook Lopez – Made 3’s: Over 1.5 (-156)

Along with the over for points, Lopez should continue to hit the over for 3-point shots made. He made four last game, and Lopez has made multiple in four of his last five games. Lopez has also hit multiple 3-point shots in all four meetings with Miami this season.

Jae Crowder – Points: Over 9.5 (-122)

Crowder finished Game 1 with only nine points. He had scored at least 10 points in the three games prior. Crowder also put up 15 or more points in the three previous games against Milwaukee. His size and defense will be needed on the floor again today, and Crowder should be able to get back to double figures for points.

Bam Adebayo – Rebounds: Over 10.5 (-124)

Adebayo dominated the boards last game, grabbing 17 total rebounds with six on the offensive end. This is his third straight game with at least 11 rebounds. This has been a pattern for him against Milwaukee this season; he grabbed 13 or more rebounds in three of four games.
