Best MLB Bets Today: Player Prop Odds & Betting Picks

Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Yankees Moneyline (+130, FanDuel)

After last night’s dramatic finish, the Blue Jays and Yankees will square off for the final time in the regular season, and it is a prime pitching matchup between Corey Kluber and Robbie Ray. While Ray has had a Cy Young season, he had a couple of rocky outings in September. That recent activity will not bode well against the Yankees, who have the seventh-best wOBA (.330) against lefties this season and the third-highest wOBA (.350) in MLB over the last 14 days. Kluber has struggled in a few outings as well, but games like tonight are the reason he was brought to New York. In contrast to the Yankees in recent games, the Blue Jays rank 21st in wOBA (.302) over the last 14 days. According to Awesemo’s Sports Betting Model, the Yankees have one of the highest expected returns on investment tonight, at 7.7%.

Madison Bumgarner Over: 4.5 Strikeouts (-120, DraftKings)

The Diamondbacks are well out of the playoff picture, but this is going to feel like a playoff game for them tonight with Bumgarner on the mound against the Giants, who are looking to clinch the NL West. Bumgarner has only faced the Giants once, and that game was in Arizona. In that game, a 3-1 Diamondbacks victory, he allowed only one run over seven innings while striking out four. The oddsmakers put Bumgarner’s strikeout total at 4.5 tonight, which he has exceeded in three of his last four starts.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres Moneyline (+195, SugarHouse)

According to Awesemo’s Sports Betting Model, the highest expected return on investment (17.1%) for any game tonight is the Padres outright against the Dodgers. The model expects a high-scoring game and is not placing much faith (-18.1% ROI) in the under. Aside from a couple of outings against the Diamondbacks, Tony Gonsolin has not had much success. The only teams he has made it to the fifth inning against were the Diamondbacks and  Rockies. The Padres are better than those two teams, so expect San Diego to score more than a few times tonight.

The Padres will send a well-rested Vince Velasquez to the mound for the second time. His first outing did not go so well, as he allowed four runs over four innings, but that was against the Cardinals. Velasquez has some electric stuff, and perhaps the new scenery will help him tonight.
