Giannis Antetokounmpo has been dealing with a sore knee, which is what kept him out against the Knicks. However, Awesemo is projecting him to play 34.5 minutes tonight, which would be his most floor time since March 17. His older brother, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, stepped up in Giannis’ absence last game, putting up a 23-point double-double. With Bobby Portis out due to COVID protocols tonight, Awesemo is projecting Thanasis to fill the void with 14.7 minutes.
After a rough patch where they could not string together wins, the Clippers have now won five straight games. The improved health of Kawhi Leonard appears to be a big reason for this. He has scored 25 points in his past three games, and Awesemo is projecting him to surpass this total yet again. The Clippers do have quite a few players out. Patrick Beverley and Serge Ibaka remain out. Neither Rajon Rondo nor Rodions Kurucs will be making their team debuts tonight.
