MUST-BET Jazz vs. Nets NBA Player Props & Betting Picks Today | 3/21/22

Things have certainly changed for the Brooklyn Nets since their horrific stretch from the end of January through the start of March. Now winners of five out of their last six games, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are doing everything in their power to avoid the play-in game. The Nets’ most recent win was a nail-biter against the lowly Blazers, but Brooklyn still finds themselves within striking distance of Cleveland, assuring a spot in the first round of the playoffs. Irving will sit tonight at the Barclays Center and both Ben Simmons and LaMarcus Aldridge remain out for the Nets. Brooklyn saw the return of Seth Curry from a three-game absence as he played Friday night against Portland.

Utah is balancing a three-game win streak with some injury concerns, but the Jazz have still dominated their opponents. Mike Conley and Bogdan Bogdanovic are both questionable heading into tonight, but Utah will have Donovan Mitchell fresh off his 36-point ripping of the Knicks yesterday at MSG. Rudy Gobert should have limited interference against the Nets, both cleaning the glass and blocking shots. Royce O’Neale came off a night with four makes from 3, while Jordan Clarkson added 24 points.

Jazz -1.5: -110 (BetMGM)

The Jazz are cruising regardless of who has been out on the floor. Beating their last three opponents by at least 15 points, Utah is sending a message they are surging at the right time. The Nets are also playing well at the right time, but lack a key component tonight in Irving. Brooklyn still is not a complete team without their second star on the floor and whatever they anticipate getting from Simmons. The Jazz are more likely to catch the Warriors than the Nets are the Cavs, and tonight will be a good reminder about the difference in talent, at least until the Nets field a full squad. If both Conley and Bogdanovic play, this line is short by a good point, so OddsShopper allows this early opportunity. Utah snapped a five-game road skid against the spread on Sunday by blasting the Knicks. That trend should continue with just a couple of subway stops away.

Kevin Durant Over 31.5 Points: -112 (DraftKings)

Without Irving on the floor, this should be an easier night in general for Durant to score. There is also less chance someone else on Brooklyn takes over the game, as Irving certainly can from deep. Expect another 30+ point night for Durant, as Awesemo has him projected for 33.1 points. OddsShopper likes it, with a 60% chance of this prop hitting, along with a 19% xROI. Durant is averaging 30 points in the eight games he played in March but having another prolific scorer like Mitchell in the building can do wonders to ramp up a home star’s performance.

Goran Dragic Over 10.5 Points: -104 (FanDuel)

Goran Dragic is on a heater against the Utah Jazz, at least in current Dragic terms. It has been eight straight games for Dragic scoring 13+ points against the Jazz, and Awesemo agrees on another night over 10.5 points. The free projection has Dragic finishing with 11.4 points, backed by OddsShopper 56% chance of the prop going over.

Bruce Brown Under 2.5 Assists: +120 (FanDuel)

For all the risk in taking the under, the Awesemo projection is spot on with the book at 2.5 assists and the OddsShopper data strongly supports playing this tonight. OddsShopper has a 55% chance of this going over and a 27% xROI, despite the projection being sharp with the book. The risk of this play is worth the return of +120, as it will hit just over half of the time. Brown is averaging four assists in nine games this month but is projected to finish well under that number.
