Warriors vs. Nuggets Game Info

Golden State Warriors (6-5, 2-2 Away) vs. Denver Nuggets (5-6, 2-4 Home)
Date: Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021
Time: 10 p.m. EST
Venue: Ball Arena — Denver, CO
Coverage: TNT

The Warriors were outscored by 11 points in the fourth quarter last game, which led to their 9-point loss to the Pacers. Prior to that loss, Golden State was winners of six of its past eight games, impressing everyone and seemingly exceeding expectations. While Stephen Curry has had an impressive January, which includes his 62-point outburst, he has struggled to score as of late compared to his standards. Curry has been held to 20 points or fewer in three of his last four games, shooting under 30 percent in two of the games. This has led to the Warriors scoring over 10 points under their season average in two of the games. Against a strong offensive team like the Nuggets, the Warriors must score to keep up.

Denver is coming off a loss to the Nets. The Nuggets shot 50% for the game, were 18-for-37 from downtown (48.6%), had one more offensive rebound and they turned the ball over five less fewer. Still, they lost to the Nets by 6 points because they allowed Brooklyn to do whatever they wanted to do (60.8% shooting). The weakness of Denver in the playoffs last season was their defense, and that continues to be the case this season. As for individual efforts, Nikola Jokic continues to be one of the most impressive players in the NBA. He leads the Nuggets in points (24.3), rebounds (10.9) and assists (10.5). In 11 games, he has totaled four triple-doubles.
