NBA Prop Bets for August 1st

Ben Simmons – Points (Over 15.5)

The 76ers have been experimenting with a different starting lineup during the scrimmage period, which made them look like a tough team to beat. Ben Simmons took over Al Horford’s position, then Shake Milton started at the point. This makes Simmons the ultimate mismatch, as the fastest player on the floor, but also matched up with a big. This resulted in 14 points in 26 minutes for the 76ers star. Simmons has averaged over 17 points per game this season, and he should improve on that tonight.

Ben Simmons – PTS+REB (Over 23.5)

Continuing from the last NBA prop bet, Simmons should be able to hit the over on his points+rebounding total. Actually, there’s a legitimate chance he hits it with just his points alone. In three games against the Pacers this season, Simmons has averaged 19 points and 10 rebounds. Domantas Sabonis is out for the Pacers, hurting their defense and team as a whole, and I expect Simmons to take advantage of this and hit the over on this NBA prop bet.

Lonzo Ball – Points (Under 12.5)

While Lonzo Ball may not shoot as poorly as he did last game (2-of-13), I don’t expect him to light the world on fire against a solid defensive team like the Clippers. The Pelicans are also healthy, surrounding Lonzo with much better scorers than he is. Look for him to shoot less than he did last game and become even more of a facilitator. We may even see Zion Williamson get a couple extra minutes, which takes usage and scoring away from everyone else.
