Quietly, the Browns have eight wins and are playing well. Still, they seem like the forgotten team within the AFC North. This is a big change from last season, when they were overhyped. They are coming off a late-game scare against the Jaguars, but they came away with the 2-point win. Defensively they are beat up, especially in the secondary. Offensively they look good when the two running backs are dictating how the game is played. With Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt splitting backfield snaps, they arguably have the best one-two punch in the game. Both players have a chance to run for over 1,000 yards. However, when the Browns are forced to pass, the are legitimate concerns about Baker Mayfield. He has completed just north of 61 percent of his passes, and even that stat doesn’t accurately display how much he has struggled.
The Titans are coming off a dominant 45-26 win over the Colts. As the season progresses, Derrick Henry typically gets better. This has proved to be the case the past two weeks, combining for 311 yards and four touchdowns on the ground against Indianapolis and Baltimore, who were both without their top run defender up front. This week, they face a Browns defense that ranks top 10 in yards per rushing attempt allowed.
Tennessee will win this game if they can consistently move the ball through the air, but Ryan Tannehill has not proven he is capable of this lately. He has completed less than 60 percent of his passes in three of his last four games. Tannehill’s stats continue to benefit from the playmaking ability of A.J. Brown after the catch. Brown has averaged 7.8 yards after the catch per reception, which is tied for the second best in the league.
