Awesemo's free NHL betting preview, player prop picks & best bets today using expert predictions & projections tonight | Thursday, Nov. 11

Thursday night is up in the NHL, which means it is a busy night of 11 games in total. With so many games, there is a plethora of NHL bets to dissect with big names and fan favorites abound. The league’s three worst teams at five-on-five are all on the docket in Vegas, Seattle and Detroit. so overs will likely be flying as some of the top NHL betting picks tonight. With markets likely flocking there, let’s get to it for tonight’s games.

Best NHL Bets Today: Player Prop Odds & Betting Picks

Calgary Flames vs. Canadiens Over 5.5 (-103 SugarHouse)

The Canadiens’ defensive struggles have been well documented this year, with just three wins in 14 games and allowing the fifth-most goals per game in that time (3.43). It has been a mixed bag of poor metrics and possession, but most importantly, their penalty kill has been downright awful. They have just a 68% success rate and are allowing the league’s second-most goals per game. The Flames come in playing very good offensive hockey, averaging 3.42 goals per game while exploiting bad penalty kills with a 24% success rate on the power play.

This game brings together two teams with offenses that rank in the top seven in all major metrics, including Corsi-for, scoring chances and expected goals. The possession and chance creation could limit the overall shot output, which could be the reasoning for the low total, but the data favors each team to score more than expected.

Elias Lindholm O/U 0.5 Points (-148, Sugarhouse)

Parlaying the Flames over into a scoring bet looks wise here, with Lindholm catching nice odds in a great matchup. Lindholm is a do-it-all piece for the Flames, averaging 20:15 of ice time per game while also playing on the team’s efficient power play. With better odds and a similar role, along with more ice time than teammate Matthew Tkachuk, this looks like a perfect spot for a bet.

Other NHL Bets & Props

Shark vs. Jets Over 5.5 (-112, Sugarhouse)
