Jason’s Bet of the Day: Round 2 Farmers Insurance Open PGA Betting Picks | Marc Leishman

Whether you are a pro making your own PGA betting picks or just getting into the game, betting on golf provides a great way to sweat the action. Like most other professional sports, there are plenty of ways you can bet on golf; with outright winners, head-to-head matchups and plenty more, golf betting offers a wide array of wagers. There will certainly be an edge to be found every week, and I’ve found a few in Round 2 of the Farmers Insurance Open that have a larger perceived edge.

You can find some of these edges in our PGA betting series. It consists of at least two of these three articles:

  • Outrights & Each Way
  • Head-to-Head Matchups
  • Jason’s Bet of the Day (stole this idea from Awesemo’s own Ben Rasa)

PGA Betting Round 2 Matchups

Marc Leishman (+100) vs. Jason Day

I tried my best to chronicle all week that Day’s game is simply out of sorts. There is nothing more telling than him coming to Torrey Pines, where he’s won twice, and tossing up a 76 in Round 1. His fellow countryman Leishman, however, is going in the other direction. His form has popped back up here in the last two months or so, starting with the 13th-place finish at the Masters. I’m surprised at the line here given Day’s form, but today we get to take advantage of it.

Ryan Palmer (+120) vs. Harris English

This line also confuses me. English was almost dead last yesterday, while Palmer looked to be in complete control of his game. With high winds and crummy conditions expected, I don’t suspect English will be checked in today, and I again want to bet on the perceived edge.

Other Matchups I like for Round 2:

Jordan Spieth (-125) vs. Phil Mickelson

Will Zalatoris (-125) vs. Sepp Straka

PGA Betting Parlay of the Day

Sure, I love the hefty 13-1 payout for parlaying all four of these matchups today, this one here seems much more attainable:

English’s regression has kicked in, and Day is nowhere on this planet playing golf right now.
