Best NBA Bets Today: Player Props & Expert Betting

Rockets Spread (+17.5) Over Nets

Brooklyn is a better team with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Still, the Nets will likely be on the road for the two play-in games and be the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference if they make the playoffs at all. The Nets are tied with the Hornets with a 40-38 record, one game behind the streaking Hawks with three remaining. While they should coast here, expect the Rockets to cover, as the Nets have struggled with consistency. The point spread has dropped a half-point since the opening line.

As great as Durant has been since his return, Brooklyn is 8-8 during this stretch which includes losing two straight. The Nets have been fantastic on the offensive end as they have shot 50% from the field and 40% from beyond the arc. At the same token, the Nets are allowing their opponents to shoot 47.3% from beyond the arc and 37.8% from long distance. Moreover, they have just a +0.6 scoring margin at the Barclays Center. Plus, Goran Dragic (health and safety) is out for the game, and Seth Curry (ankle) along with James Johnson (illness) is questionable.

Houston has played much better on the offensive end over the last month as Jalen Green has stepped up his game and Kevin Porter Jr. has played fairly well. The Rockets are shooting 47.8% from the field as well as 36.7% from the 3-point line over their last 19 games. In addition, they have been outscored by just 5 points a game during this stretch and their 14 setbacks have been by an average of 12 points.

Raptors Spread (-170) Over Hawks

Toronto can almost assure themselves a top-six finish in the Eastern Conference with a victory. The Raptors hold a 2.5 game advantage over the seventh-place Cavaliers, who have played one more game than Toronto. With a win and a Cavs loss to Atlanta tonight, the Raptors will clinch a top-six seed.

Toronto (45-33) has been playing some very good basketball over the last month though they did see their five-game winning streak snapped by Miami the last time out. The Raptors have been doing it on both ends of the floor during this stretch, as they rank 11th in the league in offensive rating and second in defensive rating over their last 14 games. Pascal Siakam has really upped his game during this stretch, compiling 25.4 points along with 8.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists. However, he has received a lot of help from some other players averaging at least 10 points and three rebounds. O.G. Anunoby is questionable due to illness.

Atlanta will be a participant in the play-in game, but their spot in the conference’s seeding is still to be determined. The Hawks (41-37) have been playing some inspired basketball and they are coming off a huge win over the Nets on Saturday where Trae Young doled out 10 assists and had 36 points despite going 10 of 24 from the floor.

This should be an excellent contest, although Atlanta has generally struggled on the road this year. The Hawks also have had their difficulties against good teams as well as teams from the Atlantic division. The Raptors have won two of the first three meetings. Odds Shopper gives Toronto a 61% chance of winning the game.

Monte Morris Under 3.5 Rebounds

Morris is not a good rebounder. He is only collecting 5.6% of all available rebounds and has grabbed three or fewer rebounds in seven straight games. Additionally, he has also totaled 2.3 caroms a game in three games against the Spurs. Morris is projected for 2.75 rebounds tonight. OddsShopper gives the under a 71% chance of hitting and an expected ROI of 15%.

Jarred Vanderbilt Over 6.5 Rebounds

Vanderbilt has been one of the top rebounding power forwards all year as he grabs 17.5% of all available boards, which ranks in the top 20 of the league. He has also improved as an offensive rebounder and ranks 10th in the league in offensive rebounding percentage at 12.5%. Vanderbilt has seen his minutes reduced over the last 19 games though he has still hauled down 7.1 boards in less than 24 minutes a game during this span. Vanderbilt had 12 rebounds in the first meeting against the Wizards and is projected for 8.12 boards tonight. OddsShopper gives the over a 71% chance of hitting and an expected ROI of 18%
