Week 10 Sunday Night Football Picks & NFL Odds Boosts to Watch | Ravens vs. Patriots

Odds boosts are exactly that: promotions from sportsbooks that move lines in your favor on certain bets. Many of them are prop bets, hoping you’ll put a few dollars on someone to hit a home run or a certain team to score a specific number of goals. Our job is to highlight some of those odds boosts and give you the best NFL prop bets and picks to wager on, after all, it is not always smart to simply buy into the NFL odds the sportsbooks are selling. We scour the internet trying to find the best odds boosts for you every day from every sport. Today we delve into the Week 10 Sunday Night Football matchup featuring the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens from Foxborough.

With two dynamic rushers at quarterback in this game, it makes too much sense for there to be several odds boosts featuring Lamar Jackson and Cam Newton. There wasn’t value for a few of these wagers, but I highlighted two that might make sense given the situation. I also found a nice odds boost in the passing game, which might feature prominently considering the matchup between these two coaches. Otherwise, the pickings were slim on this game heading into the start of the Week 10 slate.

NFL Odds: Week 10 Sunday Night Football Picks + Prop Bets

NFL Picks: Cam Newton & Lamar Jackson 100+ Combined Rushing Yards (-110 PointsBet)

This seems like such an easy bet even factoring in Baltimore’s eighth-ranked defense against the run. New England’s defense ranks 25th in the league and allowed at least 130 yards in three straight weeks before playing the Jets last week. New England allows more yards on the ground to running backs than quarterbacks. The defense kept Josh Allen in check two weeks ago, yielding only 2.3 yards per rushing attempt to the mobile quarterback, though Allen did score a touchdown on the ground in that game. Jackson is obviously a different player. He has run for at least 50 yards in six of Baltimore’s eight games this season. He will be a matchup problem for the Patriots unless the Ravens’ backfield is able to move the chains with ease.

Newton didn’t have to run a lot last week against the Jets because New England fell behind and needed to throw the ball to rally for the victory. He’s still averaging 4.6 yards per carry and has eight touchdowns on 69 rushing attempts this season. In order to keep Jackson off the field, the Patriots might go back to a run-heavy offense. The strategy worked well in their opener against Miami and two weeks ago against Buffalo. Those game plans included plenty of designed quarterback rushes to keep the defense off balance, allowing Newton to pick up some rushing yards. Without quality receivers to target, it will be difficult for New England to move the ball in the air against this Baltimore defense.

NFL Picks: Lamar Jackson Rushing Touchdown & Ravens Win (+240 PointsBet)

Jackson has only rushed for three touchdowns this season, scoring in alternate weeks over Baltimore’s past five games. By that flawed logic, this will be an off game for Jackson. In reality, the Patriots are among the worst teams in the league against the rush. I doubt Jackson will rip off the 50-yard burst he had against Washington, but his 9-yard rushing score last week seems very plausible against the Patriots. Jackson’s speed is particularly dangerous in the red zone. Look for Jackson to take off for the end zone if a passing play breaks down, let alone if the Ravens dial up a play-action bootleg run like they did against the Colts. When we can find NFL odds like these on what seems like an obvious game script, it is worth exploring.

As for the Ravens winning the game, you only have to look at what the Jets were able to do to New England last week. The Patriots have quickly spiraled out of control on both sides of the ball. This is especially true on offense where the lack of playmakers is evident. New England is going to have a tough time scoring against this Baltimore defense. Meanwhile, the Patriots’ mediocre rushing defense is facing the league’s best rushing offense. It’s far more likely that Baltimore will run all over New England for a win than Jackson rushing for a score, but I think both have a pretty good chance of happening on Sunday night.

NFL Picks: Mark Andrews Receiving Touchdown (+225 PointsBet)

Andrews has caught five of Jackson’s 12 touchdown passes this season despite not catching any in the last three games. He still ranks second on the Ravens in both catches and targets and will have a favorable matchup against these Patriots linebackers. It’s definitely a risky pick betting on Baltimore’s 31st-ranked passing offense against New England’s ninth-ranked passing defense, though the Patriots did allow ancient Joe Flacco to throw three touchdown passes last week. This wager is about the impending chess match between these two coaches more than the players.

John Harbaugh is going to try to stay one step ahead of Bill Belichick, who is still a defensive mastermind. New England is going to focus on slowing down the running game that drives Baltimore’s success. That strategy likely means keeping at least one spy on Jackson. If the linebackers are too busy with rush defense, it would allow Andrews some chances to get free in the red zone to catch a touchdown pass off play-action. The NFL odds value is there to take a flyer on a prop bet like this one in Week 10.
