NFL Odds Boosts To Watch | Dak Prescott + Odell Beckham Jr. + Tyreek Hill | Week 5

Odds boosts are exactly that: Promotions from sportsbooks where they move tin your favor on certain bets. Many of them are prop bets, hoping you’ll put a few dollars on someone to hit a home run or a certain team to score a certain number of goals and still win. Our job is to highlight some of those odds boosts and give you some NFL picks to bet on, assuming it’s smart to buy into what the sportsbooks are selling. We scour the internet trying to find the best odds boosts for you every day from every sport. Today, we take an early peek at what’s in store for Week 5 action Sunday in the NFL.

The Week 5 slate in the NFL is constantly changing due to new positive COVID-19 tests, but that hasn’t stopped the sportsbooks from releasing some interesting odds boosts for the schedule. Today we examine a pair of odds boosts with very different values. The first features Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and his ability to continue racking up offensive numbers. The second is a trio of wide receivers who should feature heavily in their team’s gameplans this week. As always, you can find these NFL odds on Awesemo’s odds-shopping tool, OddsShopper.

NFL Odds Boosts

Dak Prescott Scores 3+ Touchdowns (+140 PointsBet)

For better or worse, no one has thrown for more yards this season than Dak Prescott and he continues to account for a lot of touchdowns. In the last three weeks, he’s scored at least three touchdowns each time be it with his arms or his legs. The Cowboys’ offense — especially in the second half of games — has been nearly unstoppable for long stretches. But most of the time, Prescott has been chasing points because of the suspect Dallas defense, and that might not be the case Sunday against the woeful New York Giants. Dallas might actually be playing with a lead this weekend, and that will change how Prescott’s numbers will appear.

Yet if Dallas is going to build a lead in this game, Prescott will play a large part in it. The Giants’ defense presents a surprisingly tough test as New York ranks fifth in total defense through four weeks. New York has allowed the sixth fewest passing yards and 10th fewest rushing yards this year, so Dallas will need to be at its best to move the ball against the Giants. New York has still allowed seven passing touchdowns, so Prescott has somewhere he can attack to score some early points. Prescott has either thrown or ran for 11 of the 13 touchdowns Dallas has scored in the last five halves of football, so it’s logical to think he’ll be heavily involved in whatever success Dallas has on offense this weekend.

Odell Beckham Jr. AND Tyreek Hill AND Amari Cooper Score Touchdown (+1050 DraftKings)

The extraordinary odds on this bet were enough for me to take a closer look at the matchups each of these receivers face this week. We’ll start with Cooper because we just talked about his quarterback as it related to our last bet. Cooper caught a touchdown pass in both of Dallas’ games with the Giants last season with 10 total receptions for 186 yards. New York’s defense has been very solid in three of its four games thus far, but Cooper poses a unique challenge with his skill set and is probably the best receiver the Giants have faced this season.

Beckham had a monster game last week against the Cowboys, but now he faces the best passing defense in the NFL. Indianapolis is allowing just 159.3 passing yards per game this season and have given up just five touchdowns through the air this season. However, teams have thrown the fourth-fewest times against the Colts and that will definitely change with the Browns. Without Nick Chubb, Beckham should be a larger part of the Browns’ offense again this week in unique ways. Therefore, I expect he’ll find himself in the end zone at some point Sunday.

The final receiver in this bet is Hill, who has caught a touchdown in every game this season for the Chiefs. He’s always a big part of what Kansas City wants to do defensively and I don’t think the Raiders have the speed to be able to keep up with him. He has three touchdowns in seven career games against the Raiders, who found themselves vulnerable last week to the deeper passes from Josh Allen. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offense has struggled at times this season, but that unit always bounces back in a big way in the weeks after not performing up to their capabilities.
