It’s finally that time. The PGA DFS Millionaire Maker is back in our lives, and DraftKings has given us TWO options. For those of you like me that will just be focusing on the $20 buy-in level, I have plenty of historical data to see what it took to win the $1 million dollars the last few times the contest was held for majors. Let’s take a look at some of the best fantasy golf picks for DraftKings and FanDuel for The Players Championship.

Fantasy Golf Picks for The Players Championship
PGA DFS Picks: $9,000 and Above
- 13 Golfers
- Total ownership of around 191%
It is going to be a tough week for gamers that like to go against the grain and play their favorites, which I have typically been wont to do for much of the last two years. This week, Jordan Spieth, Collin Morikawa and Patrick Cantlay are all projected to be in the top 10 in ownership. That is the first time that has happened since Morikawa joined the tour.
Morikawa and Cantlay will not be the only high-owned golfers in the $9,000 range. But interestingly enough, many gamers are looking to fade the top-end guys this week and start their lineups with Bryson DeChambeau, who is coming off a resounding win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Above him, the highest projected ownership is Justin Thomas, coming in around 15%.
Joining DeChambeau, Cantlay and Morikawa at around 20% are Webb Simpson and Viktor Hovland. Bother golfers have shown form here recently. Even though Hovland had a bit of a meltdown last week, there seems to be a sense of confidence there heading The Players Championship.
Top Against the Grain Fantasy Golf Picks
Outside of the golfers priced above $10,000, Patrick Reed is the only one that is projected to be under 10% this week. The last time he missed the cut, he bounced back with a win in his next start. Maybe he will be able to draw from that this week and do it again. If not, I like Jon Rahm, Xander Schauffele and Dustin Johnson if you want to go against the grain up top.

PGA DFS Picks: Nos. 11-32 Priced Golfers ($8900-$7,500)
- 24 Golfers
- Total ownership 250%
I have already alluded to Spieth, who comes in as the third-highest projected golfer from this range, but I haven’t mentioned Tyrrell Hatton and Joaquin Niemann. Hatton hasn’t shown me anything in big events to warrant playing him at 22% projected ownership, as he comes in as the easiest fade of the week. Also getting a lot of love this week will be Matthew Fitzpatrick, Daniel Berger, Will Zalatoris, Abraham Ancer and Tommy Fleetwood. All of them are solidly projected to get over 10% ownership this week, while Paul Casey, Scottie Scheffler, Billy Horschel and Jason Kokrak are all coming in right around that number. Sergio Garcia and Harris English aren’t too far behind, and Justin Rose, Marc Leishman, Max Homa and Francesco Molinari will be the against-the-grain plays.
Top Against the Grain Fantasy Golf Picks
Homa has certainly earned his keep, but how long can the run go on? He’s on a Sungjae Im streak in terms of the number of weeks in a row he has played, and he’s played well in virtually all of them. It is tough to fade that, but when the run stops, I think it’ll be a crash landing rather than a smooth one. Outside of Hatton, Fitzpatrick and Niemann, I don’t mind getting double or triple on any of the golfers and their projected ownership this week.
PGA DFS Picks: The Rest ($7,400 and Below)
- 118 golfers
- Total ownership 165%
The largest field of the year gives us the highest number of golfers priced below $7,500. Not many are projected to be over 10% either. As of right now, there are only four: Sam Burns, Lee Westwood, Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Corey Conners. Also garnering some interest are Kevin Na, Si Woo Kim, Ryan Palmer, Russell Henley and Lanto Griffin.
Outside of them, the rest of this section will be under 5% owned. A couple that I have interest in this week are:
