2022 Masters Fantasy Golf picks this week and free expert PGA DFS lineup advice predictions

Looking for a way to learn Fantasy Golf without jumping in with both feet? We have a perfect solution for you. Yahoo and Yahoo Fantasy are offering a $15,000 freeroll called the PGA “Yahoo Cup.” This contest awards a winner for weekly events and one winner at the end of the season who has the most cumulative points. It will go for 39 weeks, with the lowest nine weeks of scoring being dropped from your total score. Each week also features a $150-to-first contest, making every round matter just as much as the last. So let’s dig into the best Fantasy Golf picks this week and DFS Golf value plays for the 2022 Masters Tournament.

Course Preview: Augusta National Golf Club

The Mecca of golf, with its picturesque settings blended with a perfect golf course, Augusta National Golf Club is said to be the best in the world. This par-72, 7,500-yard course provides thrilling shots, difficult holes and scorable holes all mixed in, making it the perfect host for the Masters Tournament.

Top Three Fantasy Golf Picks This Week for the 2022 Masters

Gary Woodland ($20)

It was just two years ago as the pandemic was starting to rage that Woodland was one of the best players in the world. In fact, he was ranked 17th entering the Players Championship when things shut down. Out of the pandemic Woodland looked fine, coming in ninth the first week back and a tie for fifth four weeks later. But he ran into injury problems and did not find the top 10 again until March of 2021. Even with that top-10 at the Valero Texas Open in April of 2021, Woodland struggled to find consistency. He missed as many cuts as he made and was still searching for the game that won him a major a few years back. Then the Florida swing hit this year, and finally it looks like he’s returned to some of that form. Three top-10s and four top-21s in five appearances is now commonplace for Woodland, and he has a great value at the minimum salary this week. In fact, according to Awesemo’s PGA DFS projections, he is the top value on the slate this week.

Shane Lowry ($24)

Still in search of his first true PGA Tour victory, Lowry doesn’t shy away from the spotlight. He had a rough go of it in his first few trips down Magnolia Lane, missing the cut three of his four trips, but he started to get it his last few times out. With the 25th back in 2020, followed up by a 21st last year, Lowry is trending towards earning his first top-20 in the event. He’s also playing some very solid golf, just missing out on the win at the Honda Classic and finishing top 25 at the Players and 12th at the Valspar. At this time, Lowry not only has good course form, but recent form as well.

Brian Harman ($22)

This week Harman is one of five lefties in the field. He earned his invitation here on the heels of a 12th-place finish in the 2021 Masters, his best performance at the event, but he also made the cut all the way back in 2018 after missing the cut in his first appearance. He’s had a very solid season, coming in the top 15 three times over the past 12 weeks and the top five twice, but he does have a bit of downside mixed in, with a couple of missed cuts in the time span as well. Based on his salary, he’s one of the best values on the board this week and shouldn’t be as highly rostered as Woodland or Lowry.

Yahoo Cup DFS Golf Lineup Fill-Ins

  • Jon Rahm ($47)
  • Jordan Spieth ($40)
  • Justin Thomas ($43)

Jason established his roots in the littlest state that could...Rhode Island. But after 29 years of bitter cold, and only being able to play golf 4 months a year, upended those roots and moved to Florida. Now four years later, Jason is a husband to Sarah and father of two boys, James & Myles. A dog and more specifically Lab lover (Bella), he dedicates his time to serve as the lead of PGA content at Awesemo.com. In the time he is not diving into the PGA stats and covering this week's current tournament, you can find him researching and trading stocks, on the golf course, at Disney World, on a hike, or somewhere in between.
