DraftKings & FanDuel NBA Slam Dunks, Tuesday 10/23

Josh Engleman

NBA Daily Fantasy picks for DraftKings and FanDuel DFS lineups on Tuesday, January 26 2021 based on Awesemo's expert projections and ownership featuring DeMarcus Cousins and Lou Williams

The theme of the Slam Dunks from yesterday’s slate was Even Steven. Wes Matthews went 7X on FanDuel. Jabari Parker was perfectly acceptable. Luka Doncic (insert sad face) underperformed. At least there weren’t any land mines? On to Tuesday…

Lou Williams

The start of the 2018-19 NBA season has not been kind to Williams. In his most recent game against the Rockets, LouWill went 3-16 from the field, with a particularly ugly 0-6 from three. Lucky for us, FanDuel dropped his price down to $5500. For reference, he’s $5200 on DraftKings. This is way too low for a guy playing 25 minutes with a sky-high usage rate. Williams is still getting to the line, as evidenced by the 13 free throws he’s taken over the past two games. He’s simply a bit shot unlucky. For a guy like Williams, if he gets going early, it could lead to a giant game. I see no reason not to jam him in here. This game is shaping up to be a track meet, and I want as many runners as possible.

Robert Covington

Covington is polarizing in both the regular and fantasy NBA communities. Personally, I’m a fan. I’m even more of a fan tonight because of the expectation that Ben Simmons is sitting out with back issues. Last season, Covington played 565 minutes without Simmons on the floor. In that time, his fantasy points per minute was 14% higher than his full season rate. I was thinking about using Covington even before this tidbit, so think of this more like the icing on the cake. Small forward is an absolute wasteland. If Covington can maintain his previous production with Simmons off the floor, he’ll be one of the best values of the slate, with the potential for even more if the defensive stats break his way.
