To close out the group stage, LoL DFS players are presented with four perfectly viable teams to roster. If everything shakes out similarly to the first set of games, chaos can ensue, and each team is getting analyzed below.
LoL DFS Picks: DraftKings Worlds Main Event Group D Breakdown
Outside of a loss to MAD which isn’t terribly damning due to how MAD play, GEN largely found success off the back of strong early game performances against TL and LNG. GEN did run into a bit of trouble against TL, however that was with sub top laner Burdol, which does present LoL DFS players a bit of uncertainty in said role. It’s difficult to see a complete collapse for GEN, and even though they’re favorites in two of their three games, with the group being competitive anything can happen, however BDD has shown up to this point, and definitely a viable option.
Perhaps the most surprising results at Worlds 2021 are from the LPL region, with FPX doing their best LCS impression, and EDG dropping a game to 100 to finish second in their group. LNG are favorites in each of their games here, however that feels a bit shaky even if their ability to find a fight and finish has been strong in their wins. Tarzan remains king of the jungle, and with his success, so comes LNG’s success, and with LNG being not terribly expensive, it’s easy to see them coming in as a popular play tonight.
MAD typically plays a favorable style for LoL DFS, as in their first three games, they’re averaging 15.7 kills, but also 18 deaths. Not a team that gives up easily, MAD will take as many low percentage shots as they need to in order to regain footing, while also having no issue with crafting high kill games in victories. Armut has an 80.7% kill participation, which is great for a TOP laner, and should MAD continue putting him on strong team fight champions, he could be a great option tonight.
Even though TL appears to be the least attractive Group D team, outside of the LNG game they’ve played above expectations. TL has plenty of international experience, including world champion CoreJJ, making TL a potentially sneaky, low-owned LoL DFS option tonight. Santorin is the current heartbeat of TL through their first three games, as the JNG rocks an absolutely unsustainable 97.9% KP, although anywhere near that makes him worth consideration.
MID-BDD. BDD is the best mid laner in the group, and if GEN plays smart, they’re a team capable of going 3-0, which is what LoL DFS strive for on slates like these.
Favorite Contrarian Pick
MAD. Everyone on MAD is capable of big scores, as the organization isn’t one to just lie down and die, which is excellent for LoL DFS players, especially in games they win.
