Jeremy Schritt breaks down the LoL DFS slate for NEST 2020, including his favorite DraftKings League of Legends DFS Picks, stacks + strategy

NEST 2020 is an interesting tournament during what is a normally very dead offseason. Free agency starts in three days, but I’m breaking down the two-day LoL DFS slate and finding the best LoL DFS picks for DraftKings lineups.

LGD Gaming (LGD) vs. Oh My God (OMG)

Vici Gaming (VG) vs. Invictus Gaming (IG)

LoL DFS Picks + Matchup Notes: NEST 2020 | DraftKings

LGD GAMING

Throughout these sections I’ll be writing as if the starting lineups are the same as they were in these teams first series, but keep an eye out on social media. Different starting lineups announced late could be a big edge. LGD lost their first series against WE 1-2 in what was likely the least exciting series played in terms of kills. The good news is that LGD is fielding essentially a B team, whereas WE was at full strength. Yuuki and Cult are the more seasoned players on LGD, and Yuuki is definitely an attractive LoL DFS option here, but he might not be the most exciting option from LGD. That honor would go to Flora, as the JNG was not overmatched by beishang his first time out.

OH MY GOD

OMG opened their NEST by getting swept by a more focused WE squad. This should be a good, tight affair where the winner of the series advances out of the group. Keeping a mix of players who played in LPL summer and new players, OMG also has sub risk as MID laner Bright started the series, only to get swapped out for Crime in game 2. Aliez is actually pretty solid. He showed up well in the first series, and he’s one of the more attractive options from this OMG squad. Eric would be my preferred option, however, as the ADC should feel less threatened by ylj/L7 from LGD.

VICI GAMING

Starting on Sunday we get VG taking on IG, with VG only needing a single game win to guarantee group advancement.  VG opened NEST by taking down RNG, while putting up 50 kills in their two game wins. Jay started the series, but Forge played game 3, and boy did put his stamp on game 3, going 11/0/10. Naturally, if Forge plays the entire series, he’s a good LoL DFS option, even if Captain has a bit of hype around him. How Leyan responds to a particularly bad fine for exploiting a bug during preseason could very well determine not only the fate of VG, but also his attractiveness as a LoL DFS option.

INVICTUS GAMING

This roster is the first-place LDL team from IG at TOP/JNG/MID, with the LPL bot lane in Puff/Baolan. Initial returns on the roster looked good as they took down game 1 in a pretty convincing, low-kill, 26-minute game, before losing games 2 and 3 to RNG. Xun is an exciting prospect, and his performances here could be a good indicator as to the success IG has. In the end, Puff is still someone I’ll trust a lot when rostering IG, even if the iBoy matchup isn’t easy.

Favorite LoL DFS Pick

MID – Yuuki. He should comfortably over match his lane opponent this series given his LPL experience. LGD should find ways to get Yuuki ahead, and even though he’s the same price as his ADC on DraftKings, I’m more then comfortable running him out against OMG.

Favorite Contrarian LoL DFS Pick

JNG – Xun. Betting against Leyan, especially given his talent in this tournament, isn’t exciting. There’s a large range of outcomes for his performance this series after receiving an unfair fine. Xun is also just independently good and very well could be an attractive LoL DFS option if IG does come out on top.

Favorite DraftKings Showdown Captain

JNG – Flora. Flora offers up salary savings, making him an attractive captain option from LGD. He performed well in LGD’s first series, and even though H4cker is quite solid, he’s already faced beishang head on, and didn’t get smoked.

I've been following and playing League of Legends for a decade now. Few things get my blood pumping more than a good ol' midnight LPL DFS sweat. I follow each of the four major regions of LoL in the LCK,LCS,LEC and LPL and each one has its own unique flair. Hopefully we can all learn a little bit about LoL DFS and best of luck in your contests! If you want additional fun stuff feel free to follow me @pickemgenius on twitter.
