Series Notes
OH MY GOD
Perhaps surprisingly OMG took EDG to three games in their opening series, while also playing a pretty solid early game overall. Talent wise AKi is the most exciting player on the squad, and him showing up in the opening series gives OMG a few more prospects going forward. I’m still having a difficult time imagining too many wins for this roster, and certainly not against this FPX squad, however this is the first series for FPX, and they dropped their 2020 spring opener to ES.
FUNPLUS PHOENIX
One of the more interesting teams to watch this year is FPX. Some think this team is full of talent, but Tian’s wrist issues, and Nuguri not being fully integrated could cause problems, while few think they’re not as talented, and those mentioned problems could become anchors. This is still mostly the same squad that won Worlds in 2019. They’ve definitely got issues, and integrating Nuguri is definitely a worry early, as are Tian’s wrists, but it’s just very difficult to imagine them dropping this series to OMG. Doinb is one of my preferred options, however nobody is off the table for what should be an easy 2-0.
ROGUE WARRIORS
RW seems to once again be a team that probably can beat or lose to anybody. Their 0-2 loss to WE wasn’t fully indicative of their performance, as they were pretty comfortably ahead in game two before making a bad call. For this reason RW always looks like a team to consider sprinkling in your LoL DFS lineups and tonight is no different. Haro and Forge are the cornerstones of this roster, and RW needs to find ways to enable these two.
TOP ESPORTS
It’s never fun to lose your first series of the year, but SN is obviously still very talented, so the loss isn’t a bad one. TES should feel quite a bit more comfortable against a RW they out talent, however they still cannot take them lightly. It’s obviously a small sample size, but they did have on average 1548 more gold than SN did, indicating that they just didn’t push their leads well enough early. We know the talent is immense here, and even if RW is a weird team, they should comfortably take this series 2-0. JackeyLove was… not great to open the season, but now he’s facing off against a less talented ADC, which makes him super exciting as a LoL DFS option.
Favorite DraftKings LoL DFS Picks
MID – Knight. Unfortunately, we have two big favorites tonight, nonetheless Knight still stands out. TES not going 2-0 would be a massive surprise, so load up on your favorites.
TOP – Nuguri. There have been some things that seem to indicate FPX hasn’t fully figured out what they’ve got with Nuguri. That’s fine because they’re playing RW today, and he should just be able to do his thing regardless.
Favorite Contrarian DraftKings LoL DFS Pick
ADC – kelin. Play either big dog at your own risk, but even if RW is the bigger dog, they try things. It might not work, but they at least put in an effort to win most games which allows them to occasionally snipe one or two off teams better than them.
