There are eight teams remaining in the 2021 Worlds Main Event, and after four days, that number will whittle down to the final four. Each team is capable, but certain teams more so than others. With Day 1 of quarterfinal League of Legends DFS on the horizon, we will be taking a look at some of the best LoL DFS picks for DraftKings lineups today.
LoL DFS Picks: DraftKings Worlds 2021 Quarterfinal Day 1 Breakdown
There is a weird theme with this slate, and it involves both matches featuring two teams within the same region. T1 was victorious in the most recent meeting, going 3-2 to win the LCK regional finals, and even though they are smart favorites, the recent meetings are incredibly tight. Outside of dropping a game to EDG, T1 has cruised through groups, and depending on how ownership shakes out, Canna presents a strong option at the TOP lane, featuring a 72.8% kill participation (KP), as well as offering a 31% damage share.
HANWHA LIFE ESPORTS
Possibilities are high for HLE, in what appears to be a competitive series between two LCK teams, and while HLE did lose 2-3 in regional finals, they did post a 2-0 sweep in their last regular season series against T1. HLE have been solid up to this point, and their LoL DFS are potent as well, averaging 16.9 kills per contest and 2.5 assists on those kills during Worlds. Deft and Chovy likely remain big reasons for any HLE success, with both being viable tonight.
Summer split LPL champions EDG receive one of the more difficult opponents, in a team they lost to in the regular season in RNG. Coming off two dismal defeats to end the group stage, EDG no longer has any wiggle room, although if they play up to the level of their championship run, netting a big win here is likely. Scout leads EDG in KP at Worlds, as well as having a favorable matchup, but he is the most expensive MID laner, but he remains a great LoL DFS option for EDG tonight.
ROYAL NEVER GIVE UP
Closing it all out are the spring split and MSI champions, RNG. After beating HLE to top their group, the reward dampers some of that excitement, as EDG is the most difficult second seed to draw. Fortunately for RNG, they have the tools to topple EDG, and with four viable teams on the slate, figuring out who to take stands on could be key, and RNG are good options. Gala has not been as impactful as LoL DFS fans would like, and even though facing off against Viper is far from easy, it could also lead to depressed ownership.
JNG – Oner. LCK has the highest win rate at Worlds 2021, nonetheless the winner of this quarterfinal will be a region kill, but T1 are the bigger favorites, and Oner is in a good spot to put up a good score in a win.
Favorite Contrarian Pick
TOP – Xiaohu. RNG does not have an easy road to win at all, but one this is certain, and it is that Xiaohu is a quality top laner. Flandre has not been here in his career, and notably, even if it is less-so on EDG, he is someone that can tilt in either direction in terms of his play on a game-by-game basis.
