The top Fantasy Football Start 'Em Sit 'Em guide for NFL Week 11 going over the best and worst quarterback matchups and rankings | Derek Carr

By dissecting each matchup for Week 11, we can see how it will positively and negatively impact each quarterback. Keeping tabs on the fantasy football rankings is crucial to know where players are rising and falling throughout the week at any given position. Here are the Week 11 quarterbacks to start and sit.

Week 11 Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em: Quarterbacks

Must Start: Tua Tagovailoa — Dolphins at Jets

Tagovailoa has had an interesting season. He was left on the bench for Jacoby Brissett last week, but then he played the rest of the game when Brissett went down with an injury. And then he carved up the Ravens 158 yards on 13 attempts and also ran for a touchdown. This week he will face the Jets, whose defense ranks last in pass DVOA. Tagovailoa should shine in this matchup, and he has top-five upside.

Must Start: Derek Carr — Raiders vs. Bengals

Carr and the Raiders have struggled as of late, but Carr played decently last week against the Chiefs, with 25 completions on 35 attempts for 261 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He could have had another long touchdown as well had DeSean Jackson not turned the ball over inexplicably on a deep completion. Facing the Bengals this week could lead to a high-scoring affair as long as the Raiders are able to put the trauma of the last game in the past.

Must Start: Cam Newton — Panthers vs. Washington

Newton is one of the most high-risk/high-reward quarterbacks in fantasy football. His upside comes from his strong rushing ability that he showed in last week’s matchup. The risk comes with him only being on the team for about a week and a half and he may not have a full grasp on the playbook. In limited snaps last week, Newton to throw for a touchdown and run for another. Even with the risk, Newton is startable in a pseudo revenge game against Ron Rivera.

Must Sit: Baker Mayfield — Browns vs. Lions

Mayfield looked atrocious last week against the Patriots, with 11 completions on 21 attempts for 73 yards, a touchdown and an interception. The Patriots completely shut down both phases of the Browns offense. This week may appear to be a layup against the Lions, but nothing seems to be a layup for Mayfield. Even if the Browns stomp the Lions and run up the score, it will likely be at the hands of the rushing attack. Mayfield is simply not a good fantasy quarterback and has three games on the season under 10 fantasy points.

Must Sit: Matt Ryan — Falcons vs. Patriots

It seemed as though Matt Ryan was starting to get back into form until his disaster of a showing last week against the Cowboy, with just nine completions for 117 yards and two interceptions. While there should be little doubt that Ryan could still provide upside as a top-12 quarterback, this week against the Patriots should be a stay-away. The Patriots defense ranks fifth in pass DVOA, so look elsewhere at quarterback this week.
