Week 13 Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em: Wide Receivers

Must Start: Brandon Aiyuk — 49ers at Seahawks

With Deebo Samuel expected to miss one to two weeks, Aiyuk will be elevated to the lead receiver for the 49ers. Last week against the Vikings he had three receptions on six targets for 91 yards. This week he faces the Seahawks, who rank 27th in pass DVOA.

Must Start: Darnell Mooney — Bears vs. Cardinals

Mooney has been riding a hot streak over the last three games, with over 15 half-PPR points in all of those matchups. Last week against the Lions he had five receptions on eight targets for 123 yards, the second week in a row in which he topped 100 yards. It is up in the air whether it will be Justin Fields or Andy Dalton under center, though that should have little effect on Mooney, as he has been productive with both quarterbacks. This week may also be the welcome-back game for Allen Robinson, but there is little to worry about, as Robinson has been virtually irrelevant all season.

Must Start: Jaylen Waddle — Dolphins vs. Giants

Waddle has had an amazing rookie season, seeing over nine targets in four of his last five games. Last week against the Panthers he turned 10 targets that into nine receptions for 137 yards and a touchdown. He should continue to see this high target share, even if DeVante Parker is able to make this return from the injured reserve this week.

Must Sit: Kenny Golladay — Giants at Dolphins

Despite the Giants giving Golladay a huge contract this offseason, his usage has been terrible. The Dolphins defense has been stellar over their four-game win streak, allowing over 10 points just once. While that is a big factor in fading Golladay, an even bigger factor is that Daniel Jones is out, meaning that the starting quarterback this week will be Mike Glennon.

Must Sit: Jamison Crowder — Jets vs. Eagles

Last week the Jets defeated the Texans, but no part of that win inspired confidence in Crowder with Zach Wilson under center. Crowder had just one target for one reception and 5 yards, and the Jets’ reduction in pass production also impacted Elijah Moore’s production. With Wilson as the starting quarterback, Crowder is best left on the bench.

Must Sit: Rashod Bateman — Ravens at Steelers

Bateman was an interesting waiver wire add in Week 6 following his return from the injured reserve. Since then he has failed to eclipse 10 half-PPR points in all but one game. Last week he saw a season low in targets against the Browns, with just four for four receptions and 31 yards. Without a touchdown all season, it is hard to see Bateman being a high-upside play going forward.
