Looking towards Week 14 of the NFL fantasy football season, we will examine all of the matchups and discern the positive or negative impact that a given matchup will have on the wide receivers. Below are the best fantasy football start ’em/sit ’em options for Week 14 NFL matchups.
Week 14 Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em: Wide Receivers
Must Start: Hunter Renfrow — Raiders at Chiefs
Renfrow has been one of the biggest surprises at the wide receiver position this year, as he is the WR22 in half PPR. Last week against Washington was his second week in a row with over 100 yards, getting there on nine receptions. This week he faces the Chiefs, who he played in Week 10. In that game he had seven receptions on nine targets for 46 yards and a touchdown. The Chiefs defense ranks 20th in pass DVOA, so fire up Renfrow this week with confidence.
Must Start: Elijah Moore — Jets vs. Saints
Even with Zach Wilson’s suspect play, Moore was able to bounce back after a down performance in Week 12. In Week 13 he had six receptions on 12 targets for 77 yards and a touchdown. This week he faces the Saints, who have been the most confusing defense to dissect all season. One week they will look elite, and then a week later they cannot stop a nosebleed. Even if the Saints defense plays better this week, with the amount of volume that goes Moore’s way, he should be a safe option regardless.
Must Start: Van Jefferson — Rams at Cardinals
Jefferson has been on a hot streak in terms of fantasy production. Last week he had six receptions on eight targets for 41 yards and a touchdown. This matchup against the Cardinals could be one of the highest-scoring matchups of the week, with a heavy emphasis on the passing attack. The last time these two teams faced off was in early October and was very high scoring, with the Cardinals winning 37-20. If there is a similar game script this week, expect a target increase for Jefferson.
Must Sit: Courtland Sutton — Broncos vs. Lions
Sutton has not had a game over 5 half-PPR points since Week 7. Last week he had six targets for two receptions and 15 yards. Even with this easy matchup against the Lions, Sutton is best left on the bench. Ever since Jerry Jeudy returned from injury, the volume has just not been there for Sutton.
Must Sit: Cole Beasley — Bills at Buccaneers
Recently Beasley has seen a dip in targets. The wind completely dictated last week’s game, but the week before he had five receptions on five targets for 46 yards. He has not scored a touchdown since Week 6, and that is his only touchdown on the season. Even with this matchup against the Buccaneers having all the makeup of a high-scoring game, Beasley is a stay-away.
Must Sit: Amon-Ra St. Brown — Lions at Broncos
Last week St. Brown helped the Lions achieve their first victory of the season against the Vikings, with 10 receptions on 12 targets for 86 yards and a touchdown. However, with those flashes of fantasy relevance has been zero consistency. With the Broncos defense looking stronger as of late, leave St. Brown on the bench.
