Brandon Woodruff — P — Milwaukee Brewers
According to Awesemo’s expert projections, Woodruff ranks as the second-best player on the slate. This afternoon’s matchup against the Phillies is a good one, as there is not a ton of familiarity between the teams. In these instances, the advantage usually goes to the dominant pitcher, and Woodruff struck out a season-high 11 Phillies back when these teams met on May 6.
Aside from a small blip on the radar against the Cardinals, Woodruff allowed one run or fewer in his other four starts in August. Kris Bryant — 3B/OF — San Francisco Giants

Jorge Polanco — 2B – Minnesota Twins

Polanco is coming off a big series in Tampa Bay over the weekend, going 5-for-12 with two home runs, four RBIs and three runs in those three games. As a switch-hitter, he is good position to perform later in the game when the bullpen becomes a bigger factor. Although Allen has lasted at least six innings in each of his last two starts, the Twins have every intention of making this a short day for him. After all, the last time Allen faced the Twins he allowed five hits and six runs in 1.1 innings.
