Monday night delivers a huge 11-game slate. With 22 clubs competing, NBA fantasy lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel will be flush with high-level talent and value plays. The Awesemo NBA Starting Lineups page will provide breaking news when starters are announced as well as a full injury report on players who might be missing in action. Below are some NBA daily fantasy options that stand out for tonight’s slate using Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool and NBA DFS projections.
NBA Fantasy Projections & Optimal Lineup Picks Tonight
Boom: Talen Horton-Tucker — $3,000 DraftKings/$4,400 FanDuel
65.4% DraftKings Boom/34.4% FanDuel Boom
In his season debut yesterday, Horton-Tucker was immediately a huge part of the Lakers rotation. With LeBron James (abdomen) still sidelined, Horton-Tucker drew the start at small forward and finished with 27 DraftKings points across 27 minutes in the win over the Spurs. He posted a very strong 28.7% usage rate and played some tremendous defense, racking up a steal and a block. With James still unavailable, Horton-Tucker should start again and approach 30 minutes Monday against the Bulls. Since the start of last season, Horton-Tucker has seen a 26.3% usage rate and scored 1 DraftKings points per minute with James off the floor.
The Bulls are a top-10 defense this season, but they will be without Nikola Vucevic (health protocols), and this game’s total is the third highest on the board (216.5 points). Also, it has one of the smallest spreads of the night, with the Bulls only favored by 1.5 points. Horton-Tucker is an excellent punt play on both sites, but at a bare minimum $3,000 on DraftKings, he simply cannot be ignored. Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool has no player with a higher boom score for DraftKings tonight than Horton-Tucker.
Boom: Alex Caruso — $4,000 DraftKings/$4,400 FanDuel
46.5% DraftKings Boom/47.6% FanDuel Boom
The Bulls were blown out in their first game without Vucevic, but in a competitive setting last night they primarily used small-ball lineups, which resulted in a season-high 38.4 minutes for Caruso. He turned this heavy volume into 33.75 DraftKings points, and in this tight spread against the Lakers Caruso projects for 33.6 minutes tonight. By no means is this large role reflected in his current price tags, and in the nine games Caruso has logged at least 30 minutes since the start of last season, he is averaging 27.5 DraftKings points per game. Going against a Lakers team that leads the league in pace this season, Caruso should have zero issues exceeding 5x value. He is a terrific option for all formats.
Boom: Spencer Dinwiddie — $7,200 DraftKings/$6,500 FanDuel
22.5% DraftKings Boom/28.9% FanDuel Boom
Dinwiddie is a smash play with Bradley Beal (personal) out of the lineup. With Beal away from the team Saturday, Dinwiddie tore the Magic apart for 49.25 DraftKings points behind a team-high 31% usage rate. In all the minutes he has played with Beal off the floor, Dinwiddie’s usage and assist rates have increased 5.3 and 10.1 percentage points, respectively. He is producing 1.4 DraftKings points per minute in this situation and meets a horrible Pelicans defense that ranks dead last in efficiency. The Boom/Bust Tool is giving Dinwiddie a ceiling above 40 fantasy points, and he is extremely underpriced on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Boom: DeMar DeRozan — $8,300 DraftKings/$8,500 FanDuel
26% DraftKings Boom/24.6% FanDuel Boom
DeRozan shined with Vucevic sidelined last night, recording 50.75 DraftKings points in 37.5 minutes against the Clippers. When Vucevic has been off the court this season, DeRozan has seen his usage jump 4.4 percentage points to 33.1%. Furthermore, his assist rate has increased 2.4 percentage points to a team-high 21.9%. DeRozan is contributing 1.3 DraftKings points per minute sans Vucevic, and he should thrive against the fast-paced Lakers. Awesemo projects DeRozan as the best point-per-dollar value above $8,000 on DraftKings tonight.
